I remember hearing one of the announcers (probably Darling) state that Villar didn't even start to slide until Sanchez stepped away.

Last night felt like the last important game the Mets will play this season.

Most predictable homer in baseball history there.

Any manager with a room temperature IQ walks him. Not Aaron Boone.

One of wildest craziest games I've seen in past few years last night as Lindor for at least one night showed he's worth the 340 mill he's getting. Mets season is still alive despite Mets having lost some major heartbreakers recently. I think catching Atanta is a pipe dream as we are 5 games behind them with 18 games left so that ship has sailed

But at 72-72 we are just 3 games out of WC and with SD and Cincy at only 6 games over .500 and the Cards and Phillies just 2 games and a 1/2 game respectively ahead of us, it's not out of the question Mets could still pull this off.

Listen, it's probably not likely to happen but it's not totally nuts either as I don't think it would take more than 13-5 even 12-6 the rest of the way to potentially sneak in.

With a schedule that looks like beginning tonight 3 at home vs Cards and 3 at home vs Phillies,2 at Boston, 3 at Milwaukee than back home for 4 vs Miami and finishing the season with 3 at Atlanta who by than should have nothing to play for, Mets have the opportunity to pull this off.

First things first, gotta take 5 of 6 and at very worst 4 of the 6 tho from Cards and Phils before we can really start to believe. Once again like the Michael Corleone says in that horrible Godfather Part III sequel"everytime I try to get out....they suck me back in"!!. That's the Mets as well and they've been doing it for decades...why should this year be any different? lol

Finally moving Torres over to 2nd..only took 100+ games to do it and notice he sucks at ss..

his long discussion of Judge and “another huge” contract for just a power hitter, said completely seriously was something else. Guy has zero self awareness. Can’t have all those 300m contracts!
He even said guy aren't comfortable in their own skin. Projecting much, Alex?

And his riduclous comment about Alonso hitting more HR on the road than at home "As a slugger, you want to hit more HRs at home." What does that even mean?

The Twins are 100% cursed when facing the Yankees.

No other explanation.
This is the sociology professor talking but it seems like teams do develop these supra-individual cultures.

The Giants have gone through a bunch of different GM's, coaches, and rosters and still suck in the redzone, can't tackle, and take dumb penalties.

So effing frustrating rooting for this god forsaken cursed team in Queens. Anytime the door opens, stupid friggen mistakes, no one hits in the clutch...you name it happens and the door shuts.

Once again another year with no postseason is on the cusp of occurring....ugh!!

So here it is just a few days ago after that huge win over the Yankees, I said Mets were still breathing for a WC spot just 3 games out. All they had to do with 2 huge series coming up vs Cards and Phillies was win at worst 4 of the 6 and preferably 5 of 6.

Well two losses in a row to the Cards have me thinking it's pretty much a fait accompli that the Metropolitans are done as they'd probably have to go 14-2 final 16 games and that aint happening. So once again another bitter and disappointing end to a Met season.

Well at least we have the ESPN 30 for 30 documentary "Once Upon a Time in Queens" on the '86 Mets that premiered last night to wax poetic about....lol

As long as the Deadly Duo (Diaz and Familia) are in the mix, we're not going anywhere.

Anyone else realize they were a better team when the Bench Mob were playing regularly?
