The Mets are making moves to contend for a World Series, the Rangers have one of the most, if not the most, exciting young teams in the league with MVP candidates on the team, the Jets fired their coach and have assets and cap space to add players, and the Knicks are somehow 5-3 and actually look like a competent team.

I'm not sure what I've done to deserve this.

i think they'll get Springer.

DeGrom, ?, Stroman, Carrasco, Matz

Dude...Add Springer too Lindor and Carassco and Mets would for sure compete with the Dodgers and Braves to represent NL in WS. Someone pinch me to make sure I'm not dreaming this shit!...lol

This is insane stuff as this is the stuff that happens to other teams like the Yankees especially not the Mets.

Wow...this is exciting.

As far as your ???.......Probably Peterson or Lugo

My mind cannot handle this. Rangers and Mets fan bros, wtf do we with ourselves? Our teams that have let us down time and time again look so damn good on paper. Which means they will inevitably let us down once again when the games start. If they announce Spinger signing my head might explode.

This is very exciting. I've always liked the Mets and been a NL fan. The Padres are the only team willing to go big in free agency and that makes this even more exciting.

I'd say Peterson...unless Cohen has another "ace" up his sleeve and pulls out another starter.

They need to get a centerfielder too. Hand is the ideal pitcher for the bullpen and they already said they are interested. They do need a #4/5 starter to go in an hold down a spot before Syndergaard comes back.
For sure. I forgot we haven't signed Springer yet.
That’s a big boy move.

Rosario sucks.
Indeed. I think he'll rebound from last year's disaster, but I still don't think he's worth much.

It's crazy. Mets-Jets-Rangers has always felt like a curse. I'm amped about two and feeling cautiously optimistic about the Jets.

yeah - my ? was b/c the other poster was looking for a 4/5th and i'm thinking they need a #2 before Thor returns.

Honestly, it's not much money with Cano out. I still think Springer is coming. Maybe Bauer too.

I am wondering if Cohen/Mets makes the jaw dropping move of McNeil to the OF and DJ L to 2nd to tick off the Yanks lol

Exciting day

Smells like 2015. Mets go to world series, Jets win 10 games but miss playoffs, Rangers off a cup final make the ECF, and the Knicks continue to suck.

So hyped right now. Give up 2 players that Lindor would have blocked anyway, and two prospects. Only thing left now is to find a decent CF, but I doubt Springer is still in the works after this.

Steve Sypa who does a really nice job covering the prospects at Amazin' Avenue had just published his full Top 25. He had Greene at 13 and Wolf at 7. Gimenez is probably the best piece in the deal being moved by the Mets, and that's pretty awesome.

Nothing in the Mets top 5 (Crow-Armstrong, Batty, Alvarez, Allan, Mauricio).

I don't know if Rosario will ever be anything. I don't get the impression he's a worker, his baseball isn't great, good to/very good talent, but he's missing something. Maybe a competitive nature (he gives away way too many at bats)

Amazing watching this after Brodie did the Cano deal. A better return for half the price.

Exciting day

Carassco could possibly be a low #2 type rotation guy. But your kind of right as he's definitly more suited as a #3.

Here's the way I look at Met rotation till Noah comes back:

deGrom is a bonafide stud #1
Carrasco is a solid #3 if healthy
Stroman is a good #3
Peterson could be a good #4/5
Lugo could be a good #4/5
Matz I'd rather him not be in rotation

So until Noah comes back, no question Mets have a bit of a void at the #2 spot in the rotation. However Carassco could be a pretty good fill in there for a few months. Let's put it this way, I'd rather have Carassco as my #2 than I would Stroman.

And if that sending McNeil to the OF and getting Lemaieu at 2B, I'd be willing to do that instead of bringing in Springer.Either/Or would be awesome for the lineup.

Due to his health, yeah, i have Carrasco at #3. Matz is a mess but i needed a #5. Unless the bullpen gets an addition i think Lugo stays there. Regardless, the team has been upgraded and nobody is all set across the board.

I’m going Springer due to age a CF. Today and again, Aldersson, etc mentioned strength up the middle. Well, that’s CF b/c they added Catcher and SS. DJ is more of a pipe dream to tick off the Yanks and i think McNeil is a better fit for infield rather than OF.

The good thing is, we have owner who likely isn’t finished and wants to win every year rather than the clueless Wilpons who moved out a Kelenic for an expensive dinosaur coming off a steroid suspension.

A healthy Carrasco has been closer to a 1 than a 2.

Though even if he stays healthy, It wouldn't be fair to expect that of him this season. Dude hasn't thrown over 100 IP in 2+ years.
