God I hope not!The Mets scored more in that inning than they will in the remaining six games against Pitt.
I like what Megill has shown so far but unless he really makes great strides with the change up, he looks like a reliever. He could probably add a couple ticks to that fastball and sit 95+ and his slider is decent enough as a second pitch. As it stands though those two pitches aren't going to be enough the second and third time through the lineup, particularly once teams have seen him before.
I saw someone on Twitter call his style “John Maine” style. And man I forgot about him. But ir does kind of make sense. He’s got some good stuff but he nibbles around the plate and throws a ton of pitches.
Complete with 500 foul balls a game.
Not bad as a long guy, but in the next 2 weeks, a starter needs to be added. A veteran that can give 5 solid innings and could move to the pen in a situation where Syndergaard and Carrasco are healthy.
They're probably going to wait until after July 30th for waiver deals is my guess.
Banking on Stroman feeling better and Carrasco joining the team around then.
Anything out of Syndergaard this year is a bonus.
Megill is the perfect bullpen guy for the stretch run.
Can someone explain why the front part of Lindor's batting helmet is black?
That's an awful lot of pine tar...been that way since start of season.Pine tar is my guess.
Mets bring Castro in with a one-run lead why?
Why is it I never feel comfortable with Diaz on the mound?
Cause he sucks, notwithstanding all that speed and movement. Mets desperately need another arm. I like the idea of getting another starter and moving Megill to the pen. Then figure out how to best leverage Syndergaard and Carrasco in late August and September.
I can agree with that....during the offseason, I was hoping they'd rid themselves of Familia and Diaz.
On another note, I really wish someone would find McCann a cup that fits!!!
I've never been fond of Diaz. Castro is puzzling at best.Oops I meant Castro.
I actually like Diaz, and am pleased he turned himself around after struggling last season.
