There's no way Manfred didn't see that the Astros were using devices during the investigation. MLB simply doesn't want to go up against the players union. It's why they threw Beltran's name out there -the only player. They probably really want to punish players but too chicken.

I read the report.....I think he did want to go after the players....however (according to him) there was no way to determine the level of involvement of each player....he obviously felt some were more involved than others. of course, he could have just slapped the entire roster with fines and been done with it.

This account on Twitter is pretty much throwing everything out there. She now claims Girardi was not brought back because he didn’t agree with the Yankees cheating schemes

Beltran working in the Yankees front office and the Mets getting in trouble is the most Mets thing I've ever seen.

The entire thing is a sham. They can call out the camera and the TV, by blaming it on the coach/management. The players can have a "i didn't want to rock the boat and report it" cover. But wearables? Thats active participation on the part of the players. thats a way bigger piece of the puzzle. Thats a void of the 2017 MVP title, and thats Altuve and others banned from baseball. Manfred won't let that happen. But that is what *should* happen.

That little midgets career should be over. Judge should have an MVP title on his resume. Its infuriating.

Joe and Evan said earlier that Beltran's family said there is no relation to that person on Twitter pretending to be a niece.

as per the Michael Kay interview on TV, i agree with the opinion that that is a burner account of an Astros player.

If Cora ends up getting a lifetime ban which some think I would expect Altuve and Bregman will as well if upon further investigation this is confirmed. It’s gonna take another 1-2 years til we know everything. The question is can the MLBPA save them

The MPBPA has their nuts in a vice. To "save" Astros players is to spit in the faces of the players that lost to the Astros. They can't make Altuve happy and make Judge/Kershaw/etc happy.

There's something about this team and some of its players, especially Altuve, that's rubbed me the wrong way. I can't tell you why. It's not based on any one thing, it's just a feeling inside. Kind of like when you meet someone and it's immediately apparent that it's not a good match.

So while all of this is somewhat surprising in it's scope; it's not that surprising in many ways.

1. Hick City
2. Team Building Thru Tanking
3. Front-Runner Fans that never showed up before
4. Stars that are shoved down our throats by the league for PR

Thats been my list since before 2017. Same reasons why i have always hated the Penguins.

Brody my boy...just make the call to Terry Collins and he'll come on board for the year...get it done!

Either that, give a buzz to Clint Hurdle and maybe he'll come here. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise what happened to Beltran as to be honest as I wasn't enamored with the hire in the first place as I'd rather we don't have a wet behind the ears no experience manager for a "win now" team anyways.

Heck, get Buck Showalter's cell # and John Gibbons # as well and see if either of them would come on board if Terry doesn't want the gig.

Maybe I'm on an island here again but I'd rather a manager for my team who has some experience rather than a Tim Bogar, Hensley Muellens type who have no managerial experience at all.

Shit, I'd even go for a dinosaur like Dusty f***ing Baker at this point...lol.

Just get it done Brody and don't screw up!!

To be honest, the sooner Brody and The Clowns are gone, the better things will be. I have no faith that Brody will hire anyone who isn't a "yes" man for The Clowns.

Funny how often those three franchises get grouped together.

I just don't care about any of this. It's like the steroids thing, to me. It's not "okay" per se, but I just assume most teams are doing it to some degree. Everyone wants an edge. Houston's system was great. I mean, again--not okay, but impressive. I'm sure there are other teams that will continue to do it and get even more high-tech (and championship or two makes the penalties worth it IMO), and other teams will go back to the older, "more acceptable" form of stealing signs. It is what it is. I understand why people are upset but I, personally, do not care.

Not surprised to see La Russa being accused. Again, he's a guy that was always looking for an edge. Just surprised to see they were using cameras that far back.
