Andujar is actually garbage. There is a misconception that he is some high upside player.
Hard to find such rookie season from a hitting perspective. Calling him garbage is disingenuous. If 27 home runs and 90+ RBIs as a rookie are now considered "garbage", I would wonder what is even mediocre by such lofty standards?

I wouldn't call him 'garbage' but he's a big unknown at this point.

His defense was so bad that it essentially negated his offense in 2018. He hasn't been a big on-base or walk guy at any level and we've seen One-Hit wonders to start careers before where guys have a big first year and then kinda disappear and never repeat it.

I see him as a corner outfielder or DH, probably the latter. And since he hasn't really walked or been a big on-base guy in the minors, it's a big question mark if can he be productive enough to be a DH long term.

Fair points. My only point was that calling him garbage was ridiculous.

I feel like this season for the NYY has more questions in it than last off season.

Will German pitch for us again?
Is Adujar ever going to get good on D?
Is Gio just a one-season wonder?
Is Voit a one-season wonder?
Is Bird finally no longer an option?
Is Gary even going to be consistent? stay healthy?
Can Judge stay healthy?
Do we say good bye to Brett?
is Clint ever going to get a shot?
is it time to move on from Didi?
Chance Adams doesnt have a chance?
will Sevi ever be a true, #1 Ace?

I feel we only have two "sure things" in DJ and Torres. All the rest are questions that will likely keep us from a championship.

Pretty underwhelmed by the Mets finalist for their managerial job. Ouside of Girardi.
Girardi annoys me but he's a decent manager all things considered.

Plus, I think the things that annoy me about the Yankees are more of a Cashman philosophy since Boone pulls the same shit.

The one major positive Girardi brought is that he made it fun to be here again. The Yankees go so wrapped up in "championship or nothing" that they forgot it was a game.

If any team needs to feel good about themselves and feel loose, it's the Mets. There's a lot of pressure playing in New York and that's one thing Girardi handles well.

Disclaimer: He probably will annoy you at times.

I have no problem with being annoyed if it comes with success and a level of competence.

Wherever he goes, can't wait for the first Girardi ejection, always funny, and he gets his money's worth.

With the commentary here I think it's more than just the team with that attitude. Personally I have no interest in Girardi as Mets manager.

Beltran and Girardi. The other two do nothing for me. Bogar, the fact that he was active 93-01 and I don't remember him is alarming to me.

My old man would be screaming for Lou Piniella right now.

Not to mention this little factoid. Would you rather sign Cole to a record deal for a pitcher or be able to sign both Judge and Torres? You cannot have it both ways.

Easy answer for me: Sign Cole and resign Torres when the time comes, either buying out some of his arbitration years or when he becomes a FA at age 28 (2025). Keep Judge until he becomes a FA (at age 31! - 2023) or trade at deadline 2022.

You know who else gets so wrapped up in championship or nothing? You lol.

I don't think Voit is a one year wonder. He was good when we got him in 2018 and was good this year until the injury. If anything, Urshela has more to prove, but I think he's legit.

Bird is definitely no longer an option I'd think.

I think Gardner is a goner unless he comes back on a really cheap deal.
