Hopefully Tampa can somehow pull of the unthinkable, but I don't really see it happening. Yankees will have their hands full with the Astros, but they're about as hot as it gets so anything can happen. They're much better equipped than they were last time

We took them to Game 7 last time. not sure if we are better prepared this time.

However, Greinke can be had. Verlander and Cole on the other hand?

Cole is probably untouchable. Verlander isn't untouchable, but it'll be tough. Everything else is open season.

Severino needs to be better than his start last night. If he does that vs Houston, then we're done for.

Imagine being a 100+ win team, set the HR league record, and only score...*checks notes*...7 runs while being swept.

Couldn't be my team.

Severino got out of trouble though. Even if Cole and Verlander are untouchable their bullpen is not.

After all the injuries and still wining 103 games and the division and then sweeping the Twins anything short of a WS appearance feels like failure.

I do hope Cashman writes Cole a blank check next season.

Yeah he got out trouble, but the start was still shaky. He did get better as he went on though, which is great. Not overly concerned, but it does give me pause.

Yanks BP >>>>> Astros BP, but just gotta make sure they don't ding us too hard before we go to it. The key will be getting into their BP early.

The Astros Pen is such assssssss.

they’re lucky they aren’t on the brink of elimination in this one. Tampa really let Osuna off the hook in gm2.

The problem is that is going to be exceedingly hard because both Verlander and Cole command the strike zone along with having filthy stuff.

The Yanks punished the Twins pitchers because they were pitching outside the zone and the Yanks weren't chasing. They still had their fair share of K's though. If the Yanks take pitches from Verlander and Cole, they are going to find themselves in a lot of 0-2 and 1-2 counts. Not ideal with their stuff.

....but alas that is why elite pitchers are elite. It really sucks that Sevie isn't at full strength. Like 2017 the Yanks starters don't have to necessarily match the Astros starters as in: 7IP 1ER 3H 11K. It doesn't have to be that pretty. Just need to keep it within a run or two to give the Yanks a chance late in the game.

Yep. Astros BP sucks but it's gonna be a Herculean effort to get into it early.

Not gonna be fun
