As a heads up make alternate plans to try to obtain tickets if you plan on going to DC if the Mets make the play in game. No non Maryland/VA/DC credit cards will be allowed to purchase tickets. I’m assuming that doesn’t include stubhub
I'm not sure how gift cards are treated but that could be a solution.

As some point you have to question the Yankees training staff. I have never seen a baseball team suffer this many injuries.
Sanchez has an injury history. Judge has an injury history. Stanton has an injury history. Hicks has an injury history. Didi has an injury history. Pitchers are almost all injury prone in general these days. And I'm sure injuries are up all across baseball compared to even half a decade ago.

I think this is something the Yankees are going to have to figure out how to manage in the years to come. You can only do so many alternative types of stretching to help prevent injuries.

Have to wonder if there is too much lifting going on during the offseason. The Mets did this a few years back when everyone got hurt and there were videos of their lifting during the winter and these guys were just lifting too much.

Then they fired their entire staff. These are all muscle injuries too, not ligaments or bones. Have to think there will be changes made during the offseason

Does Voit have an injury history? Does EE have an injury history? Does Torres? Does Urshela?

At some point, it can't just be a mere coincidence. At least entirely.

I get it. But it's normal for random guys without a history to get injured too now and then. Yanks have definitely gotten it worse this year overall, but when its guys who have a history getting injured, or a pitcher, I have a hard time listening to the 'whoa is me, this is the craziest luck, fire the trainers' mantra getting thrown around.

No team in the history of baseball has had this many injuries in a single season. I have a difficult time believing that this is merely coincidence.

No Alonso tonight, Frazier is at 1st. McNeil, Cano, and Conforto in vs a lefty.

Seems like the right time for Alonso to sit. Frazier is red hot and Alonso is ice cold. Get McNeil in there at 3rd. All the decisions seemed to work last series, hopefully this one works out too.

J.D. Davis baby....F the spoiled ass Dodgers.
J. D. has simply been outstanding. I mean, after early season mediocrity while getting his feet wet.......has he really gone into any elongated slump? Very consistently good. And that includes being bounced around in the field. Great teammate and apparently a well documented study of the game.

On a different note......Not sure about you guys, but I am not really THAT surprised about Juan's day yesterday. I forget exactly when, but obviously it was prior to a major injury that when he was getting regular PT he was showing signs of being a productive hitter.
Okay, granted not a 2 HR guy on a reg. basis. He has been a hard luck kind of hitter and pops up way too much, but hits lots of line drives that are caught. With his defense, if he could ever hit .270......well then that would be yet another tough decision to make.

"Jed Lowrie looking for his first hit as a Met" is not something I expected to hear after Labor Day.

Well, that was a laugher.

Yeah...that game turned quickly into a trouncing. Well, we had 5 losses to work with for the rest of the season...we just used one up. I think we probably have all learned a lesson this year that we can't say "OK that's it...Mets are done" because everytime we do, they end up pulling their "Phoenix is rising" stuff they do and get back in it.

That said, you'd have to think if they don't take these next two vs LA, the fat lady tho maybe not singing just yet, will start to clear her throat.

With that trouncing, the Mets are DONE! (Get it??)

They have to have Nido catching Syndergaard the rest of the way. I think Noah should keep his mouth shut about who catches anyway but if the results are going to consistently be what we've seen last night and the rest of the year, then it's simply not worth it to have Ramos in the lineup so that he may get a hit or two. Noah going 6 or 7 and giving up 3 or less runs is way more valuable at this point. Use Ramos as a replacement later in the game or as a pinch hitter.

Hopefully the Pirates are able to take 1 of 2 games this weekend. Ideal world the Mets crawl back to 2 out by the end of the weekend but that would require them taking the final 2 of the series while the Cubs and Pirates split or the Mets splitting while the Pirates take both from the Cubs. Neither seems particularly in the Mets favor.

@NYRFAN218 well that scenario probably isnt going to happen. As bad as the Cubs have been lately, the Pirates are in a state of shambles, and there is no gold for them to steal. They are a pathetic excuse of a baseball team right now. In house fights and dissension. Wouldn't be surprised if they won only 2 or 3 games the rest of the season.

I'm gonna look at the rest of schedule for everyone involved, but you would have to think those 3 games now, look somewhat insurmountable. Especially that Milwaukee isn't showing any signs of folding, despite losing their MVP.

Winning the next 2 vs L.A. is pretty much essential. We then go into Cincy and Colorado and even though hitters parks, it's not any given we will win 5 of 6 that is needed.

Oh and btw, I understand what you are saying about Thor/RamosNido situation, but I for one, am not the type of person to wanna go out of my way in giving a baby what he wants. Maybe if he had shut up about it......then yeah. Now, I feel mgmt. should NOT give in, and let ANY PLAYER dictate what the mgr. wants. Regardless of what the stats are. He KNOWS what they are.

Even though I am NOT a big Calloway guy, HE is the mgr. Any deviance from that, then you have anarchy......so to speak.
