Best thing for the club is to get a new manager in there for a team hungry to prove itself after falling on its face after a recent WS birth. A healthy Yoenis and Noah give the team an extra 5~ wins together, but even then the Nationals are still scary good and handily in the lead. Terry has had a long and pretty good (all things considered) run here, so he should split before there aren't any positive recollections of his tenure here.

I like Bruce, but think there's no room for him. The Mets need a good CF to let Yoenis and Conforto excel with their athleticism in a smaller range. You guys are definitely right, the defense is bad enough right now to actively subvert what is supposed to be the team's biggest strength: I don't think there's a +defender on the roster who has appeared in more than 50 games (without checking: as i look now, Rene Rivera, Juan!, and Walker come close and that's it) Juan was supposed to be the guy but he can't hit MLB pitching well, even with stellar SSS defensive metrics this season.

Do they move Bruce to first? Can he platoon or piggyback or protect Dom Smith? With a full season of Rosario at SS the infield D should look at least a smidge better. Definitely need at least one plus defender in the OF.

And of course, it feels like any speculating with the Wilpons at is risky. They sunk big money into Yo, so who knows what they have left to invest.

That being said, we're all foolish to not put our homer hats on and say the Mets are a healthy full season of Noah, Conforto, Rosario, DeGrom, Yoenis, and just one more pitcher away from a 90 win season next year. :D:D:D:D....if only Ray Ramirez would decide to retire on his vast stores of doctor $$$

So what's passable to you? I don't think either are any worse defensively than Cabrera, Reyes, Duda. I like Walker's defense a little more than both, but not a ton more. Neither are worse defensively than Murphy was. Who are we gonna add who's so good defensively?

I have no idea. But this Mets infield minus Rosario is all around subpar. Rosario and Smith are big upgrades.

Speaking of 2nd basemen whatever happened to Dilson Herrera

Got injured again on the Reds AAA team this year. He was also only batting like 245 or 250 down in AAA. I think the Mets realized some point in 2015 that he was probably not going to be as good as they thought so they buried him in Vegas last summer where he was tearing it up and sold high on him.

Been listening to another sermon on "my team sucks because the Yankees have money."

It gets more and more pathetic every time.

That trade will never make sense.

Girardi is just AVing Montgomery and has been all year. Simple as that.

This was a given the second the trade was made.

That trade was dumb. He'll probably be back in a few weeks though and I expect him to take some of CC's or Severino's starts in September.

which is people thought the trade was stupid, especially since they were pretty damn confident per Curry they were getting Gray.

If Severino keeps this up he may get some Cy Young votes

Crazy thing is how young he is.... just 23!

Can't wait to get Hicks and Castro back... the offense has been pretty hard to watch lately. If Bird can come back and actually hit that would be icing on the cake

I remember being confident Bird would be back a while ago then was told he wasn't coming back anytime soon. Then Meredith today seemed to hint that he might. Yankees are playing with my emotions
