Return anything similar to Miller and I'd drive Betances myself.

I love Betances but you gotta be smart and ruthless.

Same here. Collect as many assets as possible. The more the merrier. Then the Yankees can fully control any possible trade scenarios for quality pitchers moving ahead. 2019 should be the target season. In the meantime, continuing cleaning house and getting under the luxury tax should be the two main goals for this team. And sending Carter to Siberia.

Geoff Gorden - further to your point. Nats would be crazy not to ask about Betances. Betances >> Robertson.

Mid 3s xFIP, lowered his BB/9 by almost a full point. It'd be bad asset management to let him walk for nothing.

Oh agreed. I would, depending on price, look into bringing him back as a 4 though. To channel Pierre, his stuff is too enticing ;)

Too bad the Cubs are floundering. Maybe they could've tried for Eloy Jimenez this time around. On board with the Nats idea though, don't think there's any team more desperate for a stud reliever than them.

Wheeler sucks.

This is what happens when you only read the box scores, and don't watch the games. I don't blame you, you aren't a Mets fan, but come on, thats just not true.

He had two terrible starts where we eventually found out he was pitching injured, and besides that, he has a 66 1/3 IP 61H, 28BB, 55K, 3.26 ERA line.

He's also just coming off TJ surgery after missing two years, and he also has great stuff.

He doesn't "suck" and no way should we give up Wheeler for Gardner when we have pitching problems to begin with.

Sucks is probably a little strong.

But hes never going to stay healthy. Not a whole lot a team could do with a guy like that no matter how talented he is.

Sucks was probably harsh but i worry about his health longterm. He's still walking 4 batters per 9 and hasn't shown any improvement. Don't want him.

What?

He's had two injuries as a major leaguer, TJ which pretty much like all pitchers get nowadays and a two week DL stint.

He had an injury and a setback. Missed two years. He's had 3 really bad starts out of 13. You can't ignore a quarter of his starts to suit a narrative. He had command issues before he got hurt and still does. He's a guy maybe with mid-rotation upside that's pitching like a 6. It is what it is.

He had TJ, had to be shut down trying to come back from TJ and was on the shelf again until today.

Thats 3 within a pretty short period of time. Doesn't exactly scream long term durability to me.

Cyclones are playing a DH vs the CT Tigers at the same time the Mets play the Phills. I'm headed to Brooklyn because why see one minor league game when you can see two?

I've caught a couple Cyclones games. They're fun. This year's team, on top of looking like ****, is also incredibly boring prospects-wise. Have fun though. Not sure what the weather is looking like up there but hopefully it's nice for you.
