1 more year of Boone til Tito can be signed.
Would be nice, but can't see the Yankees doing that.

Honestly, for the cutthroat reputation they have, the Yankees are nice to a fault.

Three managers in 23 years. Two GM's. Always put up A-Rod's shit (and I love A-Rod).

Not sacking Torre earlier cost them multiple championships.

Not sure about that. Torre had an aging roster last 2-3 seasons. That was a team in a decline.
Could've won in 2004 if not for the lockout, but should've won in 2006. That year should've been another subway series.

Found a blog on the Yankees prospects. They have 54 pitching prospects and only 8 are lefties.

2019 Yankees Pre-Season Top 100 Prospects List - Pinstriped Prospects
How do you rank 100 prospects within a single system. Man. A place I used to regular before management ruined it, we used to rank Top 40. And we all agreed from 30-40, it was nitpicking that separated guys. This was even when the Mets had one of the better systems around. I can't imagine how you'd separate 40-100, particularly given that at least half of those guys have no film and not even any real scouting reports as they're basically unknown guys playing in the DSL or wherever.

I do like that the #100 "prospect" on the list is named Janson Junk.

Yeah it's a bit crazy for that many prospects, but thought it was interesting the breakdown by position and by handedness. They need to add some lefties into the pitching pool.

Yeah, sorry, didn't mean to distract from your point. I just thought it was a bit ambitious (and unrealistic) to rank 100 guys. I feel like within a system, even a good one, you might have 20-30 guys with legitimate ML aspirations, and even then most of them won't make it. Anything beyond that, you're just ranking organizational guys and guys that won't get out of A ball or whatever.

No worries! I wish I had the time to rank the top 100 of anything in detail lol.

Why should it be there? Unless its a $25 AAV. No reason for the Nats to bid against themselves
Face of the franchise and all that. I think they'd pay more than they had to to keep him. It's tough for them to know exactly what has or has not been offered, and I can't imagine if he came back to them and said "I'll take the 10/300" that they'd then try to negotiate lower (especially since it sounds like they've done the opposite, even once it became clear his market wasn't huge).

IDK. Teams do weird things. Especially when it's for the guy that everyone identifies their franchise with.

Saw that the Indians designated AJ Cole. I would totally take a flyer on him if he got to the Mets. I know he struggled the past couple years, but I feel like he still has good stuff and as volatile as relievers are you could catch lightning in a bottle.
