Guess the Yankees don't plan on signing any top free agents in the future. Can't even be bothered to make legitimate offers to Corbin or Machado despite "interest" and don't have any room for Bryce Harper because too many outfielders or something.
They did not want to give Corbin the 6th year. Can't blame them. And didn't they just bring in a $300m player?

As for Harper, come one. It's not that they have too many outfielders it's that he is going to cost between $300-$400. They have to resign Judge. It is a cap world. And Machado? A playoff no show with a poor attitude for $300m? Where have I seen this movie before?

Oh, come on. Nobody is saying they should have signed all 3, or both Harper and Machado. BUT, you go after at least ONE of those elite hitters. Machado would have filled a hole at 3B with his defense, along with elite hitting.

With the DJ signing, Machado now isn't coming here most likely.

I can understand Corbin, but not this. At this point, I'm doubting whether they even extend Judge when the time comes now. That will be funny and a real huge uproar

I'm saying it.

Sign all 3.

1) Batting was not the issue. 2) They cannot afford to have 3 $300m players on their team with the luxury tax or what it would take from now to then once they break the threshold.

Can we please get back to reality?
I can understand Corbin, but not this.
THIS is a fiscal reality of shattering the luxury tax

Point is, Yankees have (or had now) an amazing and rare opportunity to build a juggernaut team, and skimmed out. Maybe you don't sign both Harper and Machado, but at least ONE of them.

What...Clutch Memelord Supreme Dong Master Luke Voit isn't good enough for you?
He's an option. A supreme option, but an option nonetheless.

The funny thing about Voit is that everyone loves to talk about Bird "when he was good," but Voit's stretch last year was longer and more effective than any stretch of Bird "being good."

We are the Arsenal of MLB.

Want to sign a defensive midfielder? SureS let's get Kim Kallstrom on loan.

I mean, what did this team need? They just broke the HR record. Didn't need more of those.

They've added some pitching, although I would like them to add more.

I know we hate contact hitters in this thread but they sort of needed a DJ LaMahieu. Ian Kinsler is around a 90 wRC+ at this point, but I remember the Red Sox being geniuses for doing that.

The splits are a legitimate concern, but lots of guys have crazy splits. He's a punch and judy hitter, I can't imagine the air pressure was having that much of an effect. He should be able to hit at Yankee Stadium.

And he can field, which is only important in here when we're shitting on Andujar.

When Tulowitski gets hurt, we have a good player ready to step in. If we hit on the 1 in 69,000 chance that Tulowitski stays healthy, then we have Troy Tulowitski - who's complaining?

And literally everybody I just mentioned is better than Greg Bird, so there's that.
