Trade him to LA for Kemp.

Have you seen Dodgers rotation? Why would they trade for another starter? Why would they trade Kemp?

Teams like Rockies, Angels, Orioles and Jays will probably chase Colon is they are in contention come deadline. All of them could use pitching. Rockies have a good farm system.

Bartolo got shelled in Colorado's ball park last night. Don't think they would want him.

He needs to go to a pitchers park. Orioles, Angels, and Jays all have hitters parks. Jays the least of which.

Sabathia is horrendous. He was ahead on so many counts but with no out pitch they teed off on him.

Jeter sucks too. OPS under. 600 and six RB, which is a telling sign since Ellsbury is always on base.

Either move him down the lineup or sit him more.

Tampa sucks against everybody except the Yankees. They hit like the 76 Reds against them.

 5-0 thus far my rookie season in fantasy, think I might take the league. The boys finally convinced me to play, they're regretting that decision haha

If the Mets could generate consistent offense, they'd be true contenders for a playoff spot. They could also use an arm or two at the back end of the bullpen. Hopefully, Black and/or Thornton should be able to help soon.

So far, the Rangers are 3-1 in the playoffs when the Mets have lost and 0-4 when the Mets have won. The won win happened on a Sunday afternoon game before the Mets were able to finish their game.

I'm only half kidding when I say i'm convinced that there is a correlation between the Mets' success and the Rangers'.

Yeah, I noticed that, too. A little disturbing that I wasn't too happy when the Mets won yesterday.

agreed. i like this team. defensively, we are legit.

we need a closer or anyone who wont lose games for us.

the rotation is solid, cant wait for montero and zeus to arrive.

the better gee and jon pitch, the more likely we can make a deal for an impact bat. we have arms to package.

upgrade SS, find a corner OF with some pop (marlon byrd !!!) and settle on a closer and i like us to be there fighting for a wildcard spot.

if drno can really hit, lagares can stay healthy and murph and duda can keep it rolling, this might be a playoff team.

this is a fun team to root for.

If Drew is still on the market after the draft (and the Mets are still above .500), I wouldn't be surprised to see them give him a deal.

if he will bite on a 1 yr deal i like it. 2 years and im not sure. dont want to give up any picks so need to wait till june anyway.

organizationally, we have no one else ready yet. a 2 yr deal would work if the numbers were good.

drew would settle that position for 2 years.

i dont see anything else as an option right now ?

Drew got so screwed by Boras.

Can't believe he turned down the 14Mil+ QO.

Wilmer actually looks like a legit SS in Vegas. So I wouldn't be surprised of they just pass on Drew altogether.

Ehhhh I don't know about that. You're the first person I've heard say anything about his defense at SS other than "it might be good enough if he really hits."

Mets up 3-0. Not looking good for the parameters I set (Rangers win Mets lose, and vice Versa). 7-1 correct under those parameters.

Sort of off-topic but I'm looking for a popular message board like this one, but baseball related. I checked out Baseball Fever, but that site nearly as popular as HF. The baseball forum on this site isn't really that popular either.

I don't know Jon. Gary and Keith were saying basically the opposite this weekend.

As far as I have read, his range and defense are average. He truly is an "if he hits, he plays" guy. However, he's definitely able to play second, I'd say.

He has a strong and accurate arm. From what I've read and the few clips I've seen of him from Vegas, the range seems to be less terrible than initially feared, but I guess his footwork is still pretty bad and he just doesn't have the natural quick-twitch instincts to play short. Murphy is pretty average himself and Duda is bleh, so I worry about our IF defense if we have three guys that are average to below-average. D'Arnaud hasn't done much defensively, either.

It's really too bad that Duda can't play a corner OF spot. If he could, you could have Murphy and Wright play some combination of 1B and 3B with Flores at 2B. Then have an OF of Granderson, Lagares and Duda, EY and Abreu on the bench and Chris Young moved for a mid-tier prospect (can he get us another Herrera?). It would solve so many problems.

It's time to bring up a couple younger guys to try the back end of the pen. DeGrom has never pitched in relief, but can hit the mid-90s in short bursts and has decent control. Vic Black has great stuff but still can't throw strikes this year, so he wouldn't be an improvement. Zack Thornton was lights out his first few appearances with Vegas before getting shelled in his last outing. He's the one I'd really like to see get a shot. Beyond that, I'm even open to journeyman 4A-guys like Joel Carreno and Miguel Socolovich getting a look.

Dice-K and Farnsworth suck.

Sounds like Flores is going to be the every day short stop. He should be on the way up with Q being DFA'd. Can't wait to see if he can do it. Anyone is a better hitter than Muscles Tejada. Rumor is Tejada threw a bit of a hissy fit after being told he lost his job. And Tejada's defense has regressed every year. So we may be at the point where there is no real net defensive loss benching that moron for Flores.
