No matter what , he’s awesome and we need him , such a valuable player on our team , but should be on the third line ahead of all those players .
Just occurred to me, that Zack might do well with Spezza. fetch loose pucks ,go to the net. Maybe add Engvall as well. Just spitballin'...Keefe has several options. Maybe Micky gets a chance to play with JT/Marner. He wouldn't under that other guy.

Agreed. Hyman moves down.

But Spezza kerfoot kappy don't. Or shouldn't.
Think Keefe prefers Hyman playing RW, therefore can see him dropping to the 4th line behind, Nylander, Marner and Kappy. Of course Babcock would not take him off the first line, but can see Keefe doing this.

Spezza deserves a promotion, not a demotion.
People get way to hung up on lines. As long as players get their needed minutes, it doesnt matter where HF posters have them in their "lineup"

Barrie has been getting looks with Rielly, but shows up on the 3rd pair.

I wouldn't worry about finding the minutes for Spezza, no matter if the lineup card looks otherwise, he will slot in throughout the game.... this isnt a Babcock team, we can actually adjust ingame now

Seems to me it is a bit of premature to break up one of the best lines in the nhl last year without checking out what they have together this year...but call me an old traditionalist

Spezza was relegated to fourth line much of the last two years with Dallas, a team with less firepower than we have. He got some PP time, great. He’s 36 years old.

Now we are moving him UP our lineup? All because we have a hate on for Hyman? And that’s what it is, the never ending jabs so transparent.

Spezza has been fine, but he’s on the decline. If he can log some minutes, win some face offs, chip in on the PP, that’s what we signed up for. If he’s in our top six I submit something isn’t right.

Let’s not get carried away...

Im actually surprised that anyone who have often complained of top player ice time would suggest a 36 year old player getting so much ice time just because. Tavares, Marner and Hyman were the highest scoring trio in the nhl last year but I guess thise stats dont matter. Dumb dumb stats I guess:noway:

I don’t think that anyone was suggesting top 6. I believe that people were saying that he should stay on the 3rd line once the dust settles. A promotion from his temporary status.

This isn’t taking into account Hyman’s role on the line, level of competition and the fact the he’s come off of a major surgery with no training camp.

I’d like to see him replace Goat on the fourth line, which is why Dubas brought him here in the first place.

I’ll never get tired of your obtuse insistence hockey is a simple theorem.

Baseball is your game.

That line was amazing last year, how anyone still has a Hyman axe to grind escapes me, but this is a strange place at times.

Keefe LOVES Hyman.

That’s a pretty tenacious 4th line though.

Seriously.....isn't it everything we've ever wanted from our 4th line?

Why some people want to keep forcing round pegs into square holes is beyond me.
