There is a difference between all star and an all star appearance. Perhaps you should familiarize yourself with the NHL.

Yeah, you pretended 1st team RW meant something last year too. Was he better than Pasta last year? Marner king of PK and all star !

At least you stopped with your imaginary outrage over something I would say had we all lived in your head. That's progress.

I just straight up don't enjoy the games as much without Mitch. He helps us win every night - both offensively and defensively, and he's one of the best in the league for making jaw dropping plays.

No fancy numbers or stats needed to make this claim.
He's one of the most entertaining and fun to watch players in the league for sure. :)

Would a Matthews on fire be less important then a Marner on fire?

All i know is that i want both on fire in the playoffs.

Marner hopefully will get another chance to prove himself next month. If he dresses in the playoffs he cannot use the ankle as an excuse.

His petulant, never my fault attitude he has displayed during pressers hasn’t helped his image either

Unfortunately, they all have to talk.

He projects poorly, it doesn't seem he ever puts the blame on himself. The tears seem to be "poor me."

This might not be what he wants to project, and maybe the moments he says, "I have to be better." get lost in the media distortions?

Who cares about pressers, he defends himself and the team. You think they don't know in the room, you actually think he doesn't take responsibility? It's beyond amusing the way people live and breathe on comments to the media. Mitch isn't good at it, he's defensive and has a hard time relaxing and being unguarded. You can see what a great teammate he is, and I note he always speaks of the "room" during thes dodgy scrums. I think it the weakest of sauces to hate on a player because he doesn't like the media bubble in Toronto. It's meaningless to how I compute my appreciation or not of a player. It just isn't his gig, who cares. JT is a cliche machine, says nothing, it doesn't impact my impression of him as a person or player. As soon as people mention the dad, his scrums, it's just meaningless to me. He has to be better in the playoffs, he disappears in the key games, he panics and curls away from the action. Everything else is bullshit.

Exactly, it's not just one which seems to escape some.
LOL. I think everyone understands that we absolutely need everyone at their best, not just M&M but thanks for posting yet another random, arrogant, condescending and ignorant comment for no good reason. It seems like you view pretty much every post as an opportunity to take shots at your fellow Leaf fans, have you ever considered how insecure this makes you look?

The team needs every player to be on fire. I will be cheering for each and every one.
Exactly!

Indeed. I can't think of a player ever who's done a worse job of addressing the media.

Take it easy there chief. He's just making the observation which is completely legitimate and there's no reason for you to label him a "hater".

There is no question Matty needs Mitch setting him up. Question I have why can't the two do it in the playoffs? See Florida 4 Leafs 1.

This is the biggest question man. I don't understand why it's not translating. The one thing I will say is, Marner this year seems to be scoring more goals in tight and in dirty areas. I hope he doesn't shrink and embraces that play. Tampa Bay game 1 three years ago was the best playoff game I ever saw Marner play. He needs to bring that for the entire playoffs. Bring something similar to Point and everyone will be happy.

After Marner I think we need another setup man, in his absence no one has really stepped up

Keefe has Domi on the wing with Matthews tonight again, he has really good vision, perhaps to find Auston in those quiet areas.

That's just false. Mitch is fast to defend himself, not the room. How you note something else is baffling. Instead of saying I need need to be better or we need to be better, he goes on about how it's not just about core 4.

Who says something like that repeatedly after a loss?

This PR machine couple of poster run is hilarious.

We need more tandems that click. Marner out and Matthews goes cold. We need other tandems to step it up.
