Mitch Marner, Yet Again

They hand out NM like candy. If they couldn't get Willie to give them a modified in the final year there is no way Mitch doesn't get the full NM forever. You have to have ever been in a fight in your life for anyone to fear you. You need to have stuck to "no" at least once in a negotiation before anyone will ever accept you really mean it. Dubas was a rookie GM that got rolled by experienced agents and Treliving is still shell shocked from losing Gaudreau and Tkachuk so continues the tradition of getting walked on. These guys have no fear of Leafs management because they know the club will fold before they ever even risk letting a star walk.

Best hope IMO is Marner is not quite as greedy as we fear and the AAV comes in under $13M.

Or let him walk hes a very good complimentary piece the reason why we’ve gone nowhere is hes arguably been our best player over the last 8 years

Analysts and former players thought Marner was bad


......but it's just many here.

It's just a huge conspiracy now spanning years against Marner....

Many people did of course, as did some on this board. I don't believe that there is any conspiracy theory. You can if you like.

Ok Shanny. The only thing that is delusional is hoping that things will be different this season after going 1-8 in the playoffs. Can’t build a cup contender when four players take half the cap. Especially soft players who disappear when the games mean the most.

Stars than marner but hey he is a center and they are worth more.

Matthews always gets a pass. Marner gets the criticism.

It’s true but I don’t think the moment gets too big for Willy look how Sweden views him one of us has the wrong opinion on him and I don’t think it’s Sweden
