I remember one time hearing a taped conversation ( think it was played on a podcast) of a reporter calling Jack at his hotel and Jack sounded totally different.He was calm ,speaking clearly and very knowledgeable. Had possession but didn't touch the puck before the other player tagged up. I would have challenged anyways. But...

The issue is his wording. I think the player needs to touch the puck. Here's the delayed offside wording in the NHL rulebook: "If, during the course of the delayed off-side, any member of the attacking team touches the puck, attempts to gain possession of a loose puck, forces the defending puck carrier further back into his own zone, or who is about to make physical contact with the defending puck carrier, the Linesperson shall stop play for the off-side violation."

So, the question is, did the player touch the puck before the other player tagged up?

I Sweeney deserves some credit.
A great haul for Brazeau
A good hall for Trent Frederick who’s lower body injury was worst than expected. Still will miss at least two more weeks.
Charlie Coyle we get a younger more offensive Middlestat., plus.
Carlo we get Mitten who might be a major force I. Years to come.
Plus the extra draft picks and players.
On top of that he avoid hamstring the Bruins to a 3 year 7.5 million contract for a slower 37 yesr old injured Marchand who likely will play one or two regular season games.
Not much to fault him t all at the deadline deals. Probably one of the best.
The team is playing, losing and getting a high number overall draft picks. Sounds Sweengenuis.

No you don't have to challenge it because you want the best pick you can get. Seriously, what good does challenging that bring ? Sacco is history and probably the rest there with him.Get the best odds you can get for the lottery is the smart play.Come June or even the day after the Cup is won, this will not bother anyone.

It tells the team you are mailing it in. May as well go back to the dressing room then - or never come out in the first place. That is a morale killer.
