Ferris got his client a huge contract and got a big cut from that contract. He bend over dubas had his way. Ferris is probably laughing his ass off right about now
His player is going to get bent over this summer. If his agent feels good about it, Mitch better re-evaluate his agent then.

Me too. I actually think this will happen.

I also have a feeling that with this playoffs and how Willie was entrust to lead his own line, this might springboard him to breakout and dare I say Mack 2.0.

Columbus' GM might even covet Nylander more...if Willy is traded and Marner kept, Dubas better pray that Mitch doesn't stink up the joint again next year, otherwise the Leafs would be totally and utterly screwed.

Nylander took a step. Not a chance he gets traded.

Also, it wouldn't open up enough cap flexibility.

I'm not so sure...Seth Jones is available...even Eichel is available...if you're Dubas, do you stand pat with the same core and hope for a different result next year, and would he trade Marner ahead of Nylander. I'd rather keep Nylander, but I'm not Dubas.

quite frankly I don't think marner gives a flying F about the Leafs. He got paid; he got to do the commercials. He doesn't give a F.

Ferris got marner the best contract. nobody in the league would have given marner that contract that dubas did. heck... even matthews' contract is ridiculous for only a 5 year term.

I hope so but there is some sort of bond or unwritten rules that you don't trade your hometown Golden boy.
But maybe this is the opportunity Dubas is waiting for to trade Marner away, bc from a cap standpoint, trading Willie and his 7mil won't help much bc his replacement will be 5 mil and that leaves 2 mil. While with Marner, lets say Leafs still sign the 5mil winger and they still have close to 6mil to spend on another winger.

Seth Jones is literally Dion Phaneuf 2.0. Please never mention him in the same sentence as the leafs stars.

All the more reason to trade him then.

Marner is going to lose millions in endorsement opportunities when his ass is booted out of the city.

He was part of the CBJ team that eliminated the Leafs last year. Leafs star Mitch Marner also had only 4 assists against the CBJ last year.

I think he cares too much of what the fans think and thats why he always tried to make a highlight wheel play so fans can get off his back and support him.
Marner is a player that what I call fairweather player, if he is getting puckluck, he plays better and looks unstoppable but if he is struggling, he will keep trying to do more and think all he needs is ONE play to be great again instead of building it back up one small step at a time.

What, Jones is one of the better Dman in the league.
Also, the trade for Dion was highway robbery by Burke(I think). He literally gave up nothing for Dion.
Dion's next contract with the Leafs sucks but the trade itself was one of the best trades in Leafs history.
Come to think of it, Leafs always made great trades with Flames, maybe another one is coming.

I doubt that. All he had to do was make simple plays he was not even capable of that.

Game 1: Over the glass penalty; DUMBASS pass that leads to shorthanded goal against
Game 6: over the glass (with no pressure what so ever...)
Game 7: offensive zone turnover (game was 0-0)

Guy making 11 AAV, wearing the "A" cannot be making such mistakes.

Matthews did not make even "one" massive mistake defensively or cost the team the game.

I am not defending him in anyway bc his disappearing act is better than the 4horsemen in Now you see me.
He just can't make simple plays when he struggles bc he wants the highlight wheel play.

Saw that same play from more than 1 Leaf in the series including one heralded as the only star who showed up lol.
Marnercis taking the hear. I get it.
But he did have some great set up not finished. Others wouldn't go first to take a hit to make a play also.
How many Leafs played at or above expe tations? 4 maybe 5?

The whole team played a perimeter game.
Spezza, Brodie, Kerfoot paid the price.
So diod willy. I swear how do we have some of the most rigid and daft fans in the world who still won't put respect on william's name. Smh.

I'd still wager Marner is viewed by a.good number of GMs around the league as the better player and with that comes the higher trade value.
He’s a better player regardless of the past two weeks but I think the money pushes the value towards Nylander right now.

Here's an idea. Lets trade our 24 year old stud 2-way winger for pennies on the dollar. I'm sure that'll make the leafs better.

Blows my mind that Marner had his childhood dream fall into his lap and then pissed it all away. Imagine bleeding blue and white your whole childhood then choosing to shoulder all the highest expectations and criticism through demanding a ludicrous contract. If he gets moved this off-season he will forever be remembered as one of the architects of the worst Leafs collapse yet.

He’s about to fully test the “crying into millions” line... I really really hope the extra 10 million was worth that for him.

He grew up seeing the effects of the salary cap on player evaluation. He saw entire Clarkson saga.

what a f***ing moron.
