I think Mitch is a good kid that got terrible advice from his Dad. Mitch was ready to be the golden child of Toronto - millions of dollars of endorsements every year, baby face, high skilled. His Dad got into his head that he was worth more than he should have been. I'm sure Dad was thrilled that Mitch got paid, but if Mitch doesn't show up tonight, Leaf Nation will be ready to dump his overpaid a$$ for pennies on the dollar....

Unfortunately, he p'od a lot of people, including me, when he let his father make ridiculous demands during his contract negotiations. That would have been all well and good if he would have delivered as well during the playoffs as the regular season. To be fair he and AM are attached at the hip and AM has been terrible. Those who were upset about his contract have been looking for a chance to put him down. Too bad, this year he has given his detractors that opportunity.

Explain how he is overpaid? And talking about players parents like this people should be banned, what kind of bs is that? Apparently we prohibit bullying and shaming! Such good people on this form, real leaf fans would give you an ear full!

If I knew 100% he'd be traded with a loss tonight I might feel the same way, but I just don't see Dubas having the balls to pull a Masai Ujiri type trade of this magnitude and potentially upsetting certain players on the team as well as the Marner fan-boys.

Masai put winning above all else and Lowry wouldn't even acknowledge him until the Raps won the championship, Dubas cares too much about "feelings" and creating a "happy environment" rather than do anything confrontational

You're not fooling anyone Paul ... take the defence of your son to Twitter if you cannot deal with us being unhappy about Mitch's performance

What exactly did the poster state that should get him banned? I’m confused, unless you are as soft as Mitch is in the playoffs.

Who said his dad had anything to do with his contract the media, lolol

People believe anything there t.v tells them, instead of using that brain God gifted you!

Hmmm I wonder who's dad was making decisions for there son and trying to squeeze out more money...definitely Marner who signed almost instantly, not Nylander who played hard ball and sat half a year, the year we were projected to do somthing....seems like such a good team player!

There might be something to that rumor where Marner apparently asked for a trade after being demoted to the 4th line by Babcock.
If we need to cater to the player so much in expense of the team, it's better to move on.

I've been to more Leaf games then you could dream of going too slim, enough of your cheap talk.

I've supported this team trump whatever you're parents bought you!

I'm unhappy with his play aswell, but too jump online and talk about someones family is beyond the line!

And too think you're sitting there talking about someone who's more talented then you in every way possible!

Not taking about hockey hmmm....making statements about one of our players family members....people get banned for saying a bad word let alone insulting someone with immaturity.

The reason our media is complete trash is people like yourself!

His ego is more of a hindrance to the team than it is beneficial. After we drafted Matthews, my friend's younger sibling who used to play with him straight up told us that Marner isn't the kind of guy who will be okay with Matthews getting the spotlight and now I'm at the point where I actually believe it.

Read my posts carefully bud, I've made no such comments against his family members. If anything, I have been rooting for Marner to grow up since I acknowledge his talent but it seems more likely every season that that will only happen if Marner gets traded out of Toronto. I've said it before in this thread, Marner needs a sharp kick in the pants.

You're lucky that I'm so amused with you, but actually you've been pretty egregious with your presumptions of my being. I should report you. :laugh:

Dude he's a playmaker, did his goals not justify hes trying to improve this year during the regular season?

I want you to do somthing, go look up all the top elite playmakers and tell me how many goals they have in there playoff history....some people man!

This is why he's making mistakes everyone expects him to do it all....meanwhile Matthew's cant do one thing right, 1goal on over 50chances oooouf!
 
No one mentions the fact of being bred on a losers culture as having a impact on Matthews and Marner?

I’d be willing to bet that if they were drafted by a team with a winning culture, they’d at least be able to match their regular season production when the games start meaning something and when your opponents bring it every shift.
