Exactly. I can see if they won CupS and demand to play with so and so, or need to be certain spot on the PP, then they will get a pass bc they won CupS. But they have not even win a round of playoffs.

Going to put this here

I will be spending many moments of this off season just insulting the core mainly Marner. I'm not including JT in this because he wasn't available. Nylander showed up. Matthews was bad but thats rare so he isn't included here. A lot of this is on Marner. This is just selfish greedy behaviour what he displayed. Aak for the most and give zero back?
People complain signing JT was the problem? Give me a break. You can criticize JT on execution, but not effort. He is the super star I want. The model professional who gives an honest effort every day. The Marner nonsense is what started this. A greedy player combined with a GM who cared too much about feelings.
I like a lot of Dubas moves but that 10.9 is killing this team. Kyle needs to do the right thing and end this. Cut your losses.

Agreed, passing on Tavares would have been terrible asset management. The mistake was "we can and we will" and overpaying Marner. His trade return plus Tavares is worth way more than Marner alone.

Why are you so sure it will be Willie and not Dubas himself being fired if the Leafs struggles early?
On top of that, how do you know Willie will be the cause of Leafs struggle, he could be the only Leafs that’s actually score goals like in the recent playoffs.

Considering Marner is usually a slow starter and Willie usually starts good then cools down. If the Leafs struggle early, I think it will be Dubas then Keefe(depending if there are other coaches available) then the core. Unless Dubas got the balls to do something dramatic in the off season like hiring a new coach.
