Excellent point. As long as he has someone way better than he is next to him, he might not kill you. Maybe. Stick to your guns, Jim. You're the professional.

I never knew that a player's consistently poor individual play could be entirely excused. Just because. Just for kicks. Johnson can skate & hit. Those are the only two things he can do well. Signing a player to a long-term deal with that particular skill profile is somethin else.

Open on both.

I also take out shoulder stitching. Not a snob but sometimes see people with it still in and... well... it is weird to not considering why it is there!

Interesting. Do you use the pockets?

I always open the vents, same with shoulders when it's there, but never the pockets. I see others who have, and their pockets always end up sagging over time.

So, if a player is a “solid 3rd pairing defenseman if he’s playing with the right guy,” what does that make that player by himself, Jim? This all sounds like something I’d read about a particular 3rd pairing defenseman on the Flyers.

I’m still mostly laughing at a GM openly admitting an active player might not be as good as he thinks. I get he attempted to spin it as a positive, but what a backhanded compliment.

He also makes himself look like shit by admitting this player requires a specific situation to be workable, and he didn't provide it.

Not that we need anymore wingers, but I wonder what the price to acquire Josh Anderson would be and what his next contract would look like. I’ve always been a fan of him when the Flyers aren’t playing against him.

Feels like this is similar to the MacDonald situation here where the organization just digs their heels in with an us (organization) vs them (fans) situation.

"How dare they think they know better" while accidentally admitting that they knew better.

Is there any other sport that features teams stubbornly f***ing themselves over just to spite their own fans? There's Rutherford, there's the whole MacDonald thing (and basically every single bad acquisition), there's Edmonton's existence in general.
