They didn’t either. The only thing the coyotes serve to the league is their willingness to launder money, and now they lose a bit of that ability too.

That said, they did sign him to the contract, and there should be a measure of penalty for that.

he is 100 percent right. The Nhl ( much like the nba) thought higher scoring is what the fans want. Turns out it is not. The NHL had a competitive advantage over every other team sport and they decided to take it out of the game and nullify their 1 advantage.
