Vancouver probably feel they need the revenue that having a competitive team and home playoff games bring in. These teams are businesses.

Things get very compressed, Draft 28th and 29th, FA July 1.
As boring as things are right now, that's going to be a hectic two week stretch or so.

Just get in and hope your goalie goes on an all-time tear and you too can lose in the finals to a better overall team.
Not to mention that you don't suffer any significant injuries to your key players. Is it that GMs actually believe this notion or that they simply sell it to their fanbase to keep the cash flowing? To me, this goes hand in hand with how much the NHL has embraced the endorsement of gambling throughout their broadcasts. Ignore the odds, common hockey fan, and just believe you will win!

For sure. Plus, they are all stupid.

Rumor is they're eying Pesce. Need some cap room to make major moves.

I know what they’re doing. I’m implying it makes no sense & falls under the changing things for sake of doing so while investing more in cap/assets. Brodie & Pesce are comparable players at this point. They’re both mid-pair defensive guys. Brodie even put up better impacts just last year of the two.

Calder Cup Finals going to game 7 in California.. in a series in which the home team has won every game.

Oh man.... good luck! The Bears always hold a unique spot in my heart. 1986 I was nine and the Flyers affiliate Bears were playing my local Adirondack Redwings for the Cup. Bears had Hextall in net. One game went into something like triple OT. I remember my Dad trying to find a phone to call my Mom so she wouldn’t freak out where we were. We had standing room only and I remember my Dad telling me not to let go off the railing till he got back as to not lose the spot or me.

We've watched borderline teams make foolish moves citing that logic for years and years, so I think a bunch of them zealously believe it.
