Torts' teams were never among the league leaders in penalty minutes, so much for "Fighting."
Play physical and block shots yes, but the "fighting" thing is a myth.
It's more that if you play physical, inevitably you'll end up in a few fights, but that shouldn't deter you from physical play.

Well there it is.

You know what Torts REALLY wants. Nevermind the fact that Hayes is in the locker room and says that Torts wants fighting and hitting.

He even says that what Torts wants is more hitting and fighting

But I guess someone who was in the locker room and interacted with Torts is wrong too. Only Torts groupies know what he really wants.

And what he really wants is the opposite of what he actually does. For some reason. I'm sure it's tragic and he's a victim, or something. Hextall, etc.

They literally had Seeler on the roster opening day because he fought and kept prospects up based on whether they fought or not. Like, these are things that happened and the team was open about them happening because they think it's so good.

Torts is smart. 1 year ago:

"Tony DeAngelo's a hell of a player, Tony DeAngelo has personality. Is he going to say and do some stupid stuff? You're damn right he is. But I'd rather have a guy doing stupid stuff than having a choir boy here just going about your business. You don't win that way, you don't win championships, you don't build a team without any personality. Tony's going to bring that and, plus, he's a hell of a player."

It's as if he thinks we forget these things.

Thompson lasted 15 years and played 844 games and 86 playoff games.
Given his limited skill set, he must be a smart player to last that long.
So maybe he turns out to be a better coach than player, wouldn't be the first.

right. maybe he is a good coach/teacher. Just because he wasn't an nhl producer doent discount him as a coach or what not

How are NHL teams still this stupid?

That’s like hiring Babcock to be the HR guy.
that's a hot take.

Halfway through the season he admits he didn't have a scouting report on him and he isn't the player he expected lol

Relax, you don't have to defend this move. It wasn't the Flyers that hired him.
