So they explained part of Babcock’s method is doing this phone thing with everybody included even people in the front office that’s part of his manipulation & to give himself cover. For the guys he feels is on equal footing or even superior to him it is innocent & friendly like it sounds. But for people lower than him it’s a way for him to gather intel so he can exert his dominance over the player.

Biz said his friend in Toronto for example when he first met Babcock there his face to face meeting Babcock just took his phone out of his hand. He didn’t ask or anything & eventually found party pictures on it. To which I guess Babcock in his mind surmised this guy didn’t care enough about hockey so he just rode the guy until the guy just asked to get traded wherever. That was essentially an easy to get rid of the player I guess in Babcock’s mind.

So they said that’s probably why Jenner & Gaudreau said what they said because they got the pleasant/friendly version of that shtick.

Biz made it sound after the podcast more players were willingly to speak up which I guess led to the NHLPA investigation. He said the investigation reviled more stuff that they didn’t even know.
The weird thing is he could probably have someone quietly examine their social media sites.
Instead taking the phone from someone to look it over is about as confrontational as it gets.

Ghost, PEB, Hartman, Voracek, Giroux, Hartnell, Maroon, NAK all leap to mind immediately. We can probably think of more.
of that list Ghost is really the only one.
Clode was good here good after he left.
PEB solid here solid when he left
Hartman good stuff. I am sure you didn't like him when he was here and didn't say a peep when he was let go. Probably hated the trade as well. Late bloomer not going to give the flyers flack on that.
Hartnell good here good after he left
Maroon lol. Guess none of the circumstances on why he was traded factor into it.
NAK, NAK rules. Was wondering when he would be mentioned again in a thread

So out of all those only 1 fits the criteria of who produced after they left.

He even says that what Torts wants is more hitting and fighting

But I guess someone who was in the locker room and interacted with Torts is wrong too. Only Torts groupies know what he really wants.

Hayes forgets to mention that he's slowed down and can't keep up with the game well enough to play center. He was a liability in open ice. Never could handle FOs very well and rarely saw a pass to make that he didn't want to turn down.
Torts was willing to use him on the wing but Hayes didn't want to play that position. When a guy doesn't want to pay where a coach wants to use them, they don't get on the ice.

That same smart coach who keeps putting out 2 D and 1 F in OT despite always losing?
