interesting...last I saw he was in the substance abuse/assistance program


You have to assume there’s more going on there. But they also didn’t place him on unconditional waivers. This was a legit top 6 player before this occurrence; you’d think he’d be a quick claim, unless there’s even more to the story. Flyers would pass though. Not their waiver type.

As I said, if there's more recent information to acknowledge, so be it. That's why I'll withhold judgment. But a 26 year old player like this never goes on waivers. He's not good offensively, especially at 5v5 -- he's elite. Over the last 3 years:

But if he CAN play to his normal level, and if you have ample cap space, that's called risk-reward.
