A major reason we can't have a more skilled team is Fletcher actively avoids using more skilled players.

NAK is the perfect example that sometimes you just need to be in the right place at the right time. He didn't even plan to play for Colorado, he was just picked up by them. And now he's a Stanley Cup champion without contributing a single point in the playoffs.
Wearing a Joe Sakic t-shirt is the least he can do to show his gratitude.

Flyers should look at Lybushkin and/or Mykheyev/Paul in free agency.... all should be affordable and provide depth. I'm sure were instead going to overspend on someone in his last contract or make 1 or 2 horrible trades!!

I don't care about the rest of the argument, but you damn near killed me with that one. 17 Points in 74 Games in those 3 Cup runs. Major contributions, baby! Can't we just call him a fine role player and leave it at that?

Maybe because we didn't have 12 healthy forwards with skills last season?
You know, with Couts, Hayes, Brassard injured, Frost recovering from an injury.
In fact, when was the last time the Flyers had 9 skilled forwards?

Guys like PEB, VdV, Weise, Pitlick, Bunnaman, etc. don't qualify.
Cousins and Weal were borderline at best. Same with Read his last couple seasons.

I'm talking in general, not last seasons injuries, but even so mac brings nothing to the table that is worth re-signing, even with a dog shit roster like we have, Mac is 100% useless

But again, that has to with shit management, we very well could roll 4 lines of players who actually bring something to the table, even if the 4th line is a defensive line and good on the draws, there's no reason why we shouldn't have had 4 lines where they all bring something POSITIVE to the team

Apparently we are already working on signing re-signing mac.....as if he brings anything to the table.....I truly can't understand why we can't have 4 lines of players with skills, f*** the checking line bullshit, its no longer needed, and if we were going to have a scrub play, I'd much rather have an enforcer like we had in Brashear, dude could fight and wasn't a liability, he actually had hockey skill.......this franchise is doomed with these jackasses in charge, I honestly can't wait for Clarke to die at this point, that may be our only chance

Avalanche: uh yea we will take a skilled fore-checking winger for our 4th line

Flyers=4th worse team in the league
Avalanche=top seed in the west and Stanley Cup Champs

Nak=11G and 22Pts in 67GP regular season with COL
Brown, MacEwan, Thomspon= 8G and 21Pts in 152GP combined with Flyers

If 3 players cant even match the production of 1 player, youve done f***ed up!
