They need to upgrade at center for next season no matter what. They can’t go into that year with Frost, a depleted Couturier and Poehling. That’s just not competitive. The Cates and Laughton at center position just needs to stop.
Since there isn’t anyone else in the system, unless Rizzo signs and is more than can be expected, the club will need to make a deal and get another player. That’s going to hurt because it will cost but when a position has been neglected for seasons as this one has, the Flyers are going to pay.

There's nothing really too groundbreaking with their scouting either. They just pretty much take the guys teams let slide through the cracks for some reason. They rarely take negative statistical outliers.
