Yes. All games being worth the same makes more sense than the loser point, and 1-8 is perfect; anything else is making things more complicated to fix problems that do not exist.
Yeah but have you stopped to consider RIVALRIESSSSSSSSS?!?

You know, the rivals that see each other three times a year?

I'll never get over that being the driving factor of the format change but they follow it up with teams not playing each other for month's at a time during the regular season and some playing teams in other divisions just as many times.

Just track wins and losses, no point system no loser points for an OTL; wins and losses. 1-8 seeding. Every other sport does this, figure it out.

The real flaw in the system, which should be making it 1-8, is that the Rangers could win the division and play a team that could me more than 10 points ahead of who Carolina in 2nd place would play, who may have lost more games than they've won.

There's a thread for McJesus going for 100 assists this year, but Kuch is actually 5 away with little over 4 games left to play. Dude's effing stud. Also as a righty Stamkos has got to play with two of the best playmaking RWs to ever hit the ice. Talk about luck, wherever he signs this summer he is next Lecavalier in waiting.
