Holy Christ looking at MacKinnons nhl profile they play him 27 min a game? That's insane even for a D and not a center. How are they expecting him to perform in playoffs with usage like that?

Half the Metro/Atlantic is having a down year, and the Flyers might be 3 spots out of the WC in the West.

Outside of Edmonton (95) the top 4 teams in each conference have over 100 points. There are 3 teams currently in that are in the 80's. Kings have 89 and the Flyers are tied with the Trylanders at 83.

Full credit to the team, and even the coach, for scratching, clawing, and all that, but it's pretty obvious they are where they are because of more than just that. I hope they get in for selfish fan reasons, and I do think there is value to playing high leverage games for our young guys, who've never had that experience. But next year they (management) need to realize it's back to square one. Fingers crossed!

Tortorella will blame players’ balls for their step back next year.

Technically, something like 7 teams have at least a mathematical longshot at 2WC and almost every one of them is objectively bad. The one exception may be NJ who are fine as a team but don't have any goalies in the top 50. And not bad in a "Still, anything can happen!" kind of way, but in a "perhaps we should ponder first round byes" sort of way.

Selanne is underrated.
I don't think anyone will ever break his scoring record from his rookie season. He was probably a bit lucky because scoring in general was ridiculous that year, but talk about intruducing yourself to the league.

Must be weird having such a historic rookie season knowing it'll probably be impossible to ever live up to that again in your career.
