So Vegas was $500M & Seattle was $650M. Minnesota, Columbus, Atlanta, & Nashville were all $80M in the late 90’s/early 2000’s.

Winnipeg apparently paid $60M to the league in a relocation fee when they bought Atlanta.

So expansion is definitely more profitable & it’s probably been the saving grace for Arizona in recent times but I think it’s getting to a point of no return. How much more money can you sink into this if you’re the league owners? Especially now when you have a liable replacement that makes a ton of sense business wise but also logistically.
There’s also more space in the US because they’re in fewer markets compared to the other leagues. The NHL has 25 US teams in 22 markets. They’re the only league with 3 teams in New York.

Yet they can’t get a TV deal that pays for their player contracts like the other leagues have.

Hold up, wait a minute.

I've just been loosely informed that likely a good amount of these Coyotes tweets are posted by the owner's son who is the Chief Brand Officer of the Coyotes.
...I suddenly feel materially less bad about him eventually getting dragged if everything in PHX falls through.

At last report, Arizona needed 30 million in revenue sharing in 2022. For the NHL, that's quite an amount. League would be way better off long-term moving Arizona anywhere that can be slashed.

Ah, for a brief moment i'll be back in 2012 where I cared for the Flyers and NHL 13 was firing up.

All will be right with the world as my wife yells at me about how cold she is.

They should have gotten My Chemical Romance in there instead!

The one I went to in Pittsburgh had Train perform lmao. I didn't know they had any songs besides drops of jupiter

So far in the first period against the Avalanche, the Canes only have 3 shots. Martin Necas has all of them.

They were all goals.

Out of curiosity, people here are rooting for Ovie to beat the record, right? I only ask because I see so many comments on the cesspool of FB saying they don't want him to pass Wayner. These comments mostly seem to be people in their 50s and 60s. Over Christmas with some of my family, we were discussing his struggles this season, and I mentioned that I hope he gets back on track so he came break the goal record and you would think I just slapped a baby because some of my family (the older ones) did not agree. Their reasoning was basically "a Russian doesnt deserve to beat the record"
