Hyman is going to be just like Ponikarovsky, Stajan, Grabovski, Bozak etc etc.
Dime a dozen guys that played in our top 6 because we didn’t have anybody else and then completely failed when they left the Leafs.
I’d be pretty surprised if he’s in the NHL in three years.

Bozak had 13 points in 26 playoff games for the Blues on their cup run, I wouldn't consider that a fail.

Think up some bizarre hypothetical then use the phantom scenario to prove you are a reality expert. Sigh...

So the leafs go to the conf finals. Everyone’s excited. The next year they get 128 points. Everyone’s over the moon. They play Columbus and get swept.

how does this fan base react? Pls explain this to me.

also bizarre hypothetical? This literally happened dipshit

I really have to thank him. This exchange we're having ATM is really helping me get over that choke job to the Habs.

I haven't laughed so hard since before game 4.

Regular season awards, irrelevant, right?
Not irrelevant, but not worth much if the player can’t perform at that level and above in the playoffs.

Tampa had the best defenseman in the league and best player in the playoffs for under $8M. Kucherov and Vasilevsky also had strong cases along with Point for the Conn Smythe. Stamkos was injured but he’s played well in the playoffs for most of his career.

Hard to see how the Leafs can compete with this.

Yes. It happened to Tampa. Not to us. We haven't won a playoff round in 20 years. So therefore it's a hypothetical scenario.

But just to play ball with you. I am sure that if that scenario happened to the Leafs, obviously fans would be pissed. But if they had previously won playoff rounds in years past, there wouldn't be as big of an overreaction as there would be ATM.

He was hurt last year and not up to form this, plus his linemates were dogshit. He was a great player for us, that’s kind of why he’s going to get paid. “You guys” need to pay attention, nobody is saying he’s the most important player, but he’s a great piece for a winning side.

14 points in 32 playoff games. Also, how long does it take to get going? If he was hurt still, he shouldn’t have been out there in the first place.

Ya it’d be bigger.

lmfao sure you would.
Lol. So you're saying we'd all be angrier if we won 4 playoff rounds the previous 3 years? What the hell are you talking about about?

I honestly can't even follow your "logic" on this one... You seem to be under the impression that leaf fans get angry when they WIN playoff rounds. But it apparently needs to be explained to you that it's LOSING playoff rounds that is making us mad.

Do I really have to edit all of your posts due to not reading them properly? LMFAO.

point remains. It’s a game and you have no control over it. Enjoy your summer.

if you don’t bet money on the game who gives a shit.

Leaf fans were angry when the team lost to Carolina and Buffalo in the conf finals even tho they had a history of winning and going decently in the playoffs. What’s your point?

They all signed for those amounts before the playoff success is the point. You scream playoff success is the only thing that matters then point to regular-season success as an indicator of how good Tampa players are for their price when it fits your narrative.. interesting

Let me guess you thought he was a third round plug for two years under Babs? Probably true last year, he shouldn’t have been out there.

We will miss Hyman, and that’s just reality.

Guarantee the isles sign him on a good contract number.

Ya like when they missed out on Tavares even tho they offered more and they missed out on Panarin even tho they offered more. And they gave Anders Lee 7x7 who just tore his ACL and is damaged goods.

habe the Islanders ever given a good contract? Serious Q

So managment should be excused from the conversation? I agree 100% its on the players but, at what point do you trade one of these guys if they're not getting it done.

They could fire management tomorrow for all I care.

I think Keefe was bad in the playoffs. Good regular season but for some reason he stops doing all the things that I like in the playoffs.

Dubas - I know is polarizing. I don’t think he did a bad job. He’s had his good (Muzzin, Brodie) and bad (kadri, Marner contract).

All that said, everyone thought the Leafs were the best built team in the North. Everyone had us winning it, but the players choked. Dubas and Shanahan didn’t go out there and play their worst hockey when it counted. That was the players.

If management brings back the same players, then you’re right and they’re idiots. But the off season hasn’t even started yet, so let’s see what they do and hope for the best.
