Foligno got off WAY light. Only a $5k fine for his knee last night.

Wasn't gonna say anything when everyone was up in arms last night, but I didn't think it was AS bad as it seemed. No doubt there was quite a bit of knee to knee contact, but I don't think he actually moved his leg to clip him, and he still made a concerted effort to drive through the upper body. The principal point of contract was still shoulder to shoulder.

I’ve been pretty level-headed through the recent skid, but that’s as back breaking a loss as I’ve seen this year. This team stinks

Time to bust out the strategic planning

There were plenty of worse efforts in the last 10 games. I thought they looked decent last night.

I thought they were absolutely terrible all the way through...goals # 2 and 3 in the 2nd were some of the most brutal you'll ever see. Just unacceptable stuff.

Problem is when they screw up the goalie hasn't been there to bail anyone out. So all these mistakes are costing goals at an incredible clip/percentage.

They've all done this stuff before and done it well earlier in the season so it just looks like they are both physically and mentally fatigued. Maybe this week with a couple days off in between games will help? It just feels like they need reinforcements and to start shuffling guys out. There are just as many games in April as there are in March.

The goalies have been so bad. But everyone was a participant in the brutality last night.

A lot of people could see this coming a mile away.

Pieces are there, but the puzzle isn't completed yet.

BTW better or worse than the collapse in what was it? 08?

I don't see how one collapse is better than another. That's like someone asking you to pick out the prettiest turd.

Maybe just their unsustainable luck ran out? Hartman, Goligoski and Foligno scoring pace, 6 on5 goals, plenty of rest between games etc.
Good Penalty kills work hard and take time and space away. The Wild seem to stand in one spot and let them setup. Especially forwards. Every team’s PP looks awesome playing against pylons.

I think so. Defense isn't as strong as it could be. Goaltending has fallen off. People will put me on blast for this now but having Suter right now I bet our record wouldn't be as bad in the last 10 stretch as it has been. He might have been a locker room buzz kill but having his presence back there right now I think would have helped this team immensely. Maybe I'm wrong but whatever.

On the ice, IMO Suter is a huge upgrade defensively. But, there is no way for we fans to quantify the degree in which Suter affected the culture, good, bad or indifferent.

Yes and no; this team still has Kaprizov and Fiala and had one of the best third lines in Greenway - Eriksson -Ek - Foligno. They started getting dirty and teams started getting under their skin and the wheels have fallen off. In the beginning of the year, the team played smart, played physical without going over the line and you could see that they were having fun. I do blame the schedule a bit for the wheels falling off, but this team is taking cheap shots and aren't playing their game. Foligno went from being a good third line bruiser to a goon. I don't know what's wrong with the team, but they are stuck in their own head and need to start playing like they did at the beginning of the team.

Kaprizov and Fiala and Boldy are wonderful but you can’t expect them to score 6 or 7 goals to beat Nashville and Columbus. PK is too slow and doesn’t attack. PP can’t enter the zone. Greenway and Foligno on PP? Most teams take their best shooters and put them out for nearly the whole 2 min. Zuc, Fiala, Boldy, Kap at once. Leave them out. Why grinders onnPP? They are ok for 5-5 close games but on the PP you should be able to pass it around the O zone.

The minute the focus becomes on Foligno fighting and greenway gooning the Wilds strength is gone. They are NOT a heavy team. If I hear this identity crap again I’ll jump out the window. Speed and skill is their only hope. Don’t get me wrong, I love old time hockey but the Wild are not a physical team. . 1-6-1 I think vs central division? Pretty safe to say Merrill, Goligoski and Talbot looking pretty lame lately.

25 points this season for Dallas and he's still eating 25-28 minutes a night.
