In my mind, he was just a rental. Kinda surprised how hard BG is going after him. But if I were the guy, I would have serious reservations about re-signing with a club who is facing the potential of losing a freaking boatload of their offense while also dealing with serious cap problems.

Guerin is probably willing to throw a lot more money at a washed up goaltender than anyone else is. We have 4.9M of space left and I'm willing to bet Guerin is willing to sink a large majority of that into Fleury.

Counting the Rossi and Boldy bonus overages, I have us at $2.7M in space.

Perhaps the Leafs or Oilers will have a hold my beer moment.

Fingers crossed!
Pick your poison....the Wild are a gigantic question mark who may end up blindfolded in a dumpster behind Tom Reid's bar should Kaprizov get held up in Russia. Or do you go to Toronto....a team with fewer question marks, but also a place with fans and very vicious media who will rip you to shreds in record time.

Yep. If they sign MAF, it won't be as a backup. Guerin is not chasing the guy this hard just to have him sitting on the bench most nights. It'll be like the early years for us with rotating goalies. No official #2 guy. Unless BG is looking at trading Talbot.

Aside from goalies, if the Hawks are selling so cheap, let's go after Kane! :sarcasm:;)

Good lord lol.

So I guess some of you are not Guerin fans. He keeps signing well aged players. Are we the oldest team in the league now?

Oh for #$%@'s sakes, BG! Maybe he should have asked Talbot about his feelings regarding the 50/50 a bit earlier.

Can't really blame Talbot or his agent for voicing dismay. We already saw what the "50/50 tandem" really looks like when the rubber hits the road, and it doesn't favor Talbot.

We’ll be in the top 5 in that regard, which is odd to me. During the cap years, I was assuming we’d develop within and be super young. Sure some growing pains but at least they’re playing. Now, we’ll watch 4 geriatric LHDs go out there with a 35YO and 37YO goalie tandem that will be immensely average at their job.

I wasn’t a big Khakonnen fan but I’d far rather see him with Talbot than this overpriced fossil group we’re going to deploy. Will likely make less $$$ than Flower too.

It makes a lot of sense though; Guerin is just hiring his old buddies.

It's the same good old boys club Guerin claimed he wanted to dismantle, it's just now Guerin's good old boys club instead of Fletcher's.

Well, I have a feeling that Leipold is fine with everything Guerin is doing. I'm sure they have a plan.

At least Wild's prospect pool is starting to look pretty good.

Nothing wrong with icing an experienced roster while the prospects cook. Don't want to force them into a situation they aren't ready for.
