That would be pretty incredible, since the 5 forwards Jarvis spent the most time with were Aho, Svechnikov, Teravainen, Trocheck and Necas; and for Perfetti, it was Wheeler, Scheifele, Dubois and Connor.

I'm not all that confident in major lineup shakeups.
Fair points, so I would adjust it to the lower end of my expectations ~35pts.

I don't expect major lineup changes due to Dean's free will but it is be inevitable some things happen over the course of a year, someone gets injured, lines mix up and new pairings are discovered. Or some lines that did click last year don't click this year (ie GREEF line).

I predict Hartman struggles and the team hits a cold streak, struggling to score, around Christmas time and Dean tries JEE on the 1st line and brings up Rossi with Boldy.

I'm looking for a similar PPG rate that Seth Jarvis and Cole Perfetti had in their first full NHL years (both had 0.59 PPG; Jarvis in 21-22, Perfetti in 22-23). Also, I picture Rossi leaning into more of the playmaking vs goalscoring than those 2.

Not taking into account Gaudreau-Foligno as linemates BECAUSE I think he will see time as the season progresses up and down the lineup with Boldy and maybe Kaprizov due to injuries, lineup shakeups etc. That will balance out the lack of scoring from the grinders.

But I will adjust for not a full season, say 68 games = at .59PPG expecting 40pts (+/= 5 pts), 10g (0.5GPG) - 30a (0.45APG).
I think this is about right. NHLe has him at about 36 pts. , but their metrics lack nuance. Rossi is not the same player he was two years ago entering the AHL, but OTOH, he got first line 5v5 and PP usage almost from the start, whereas here he will #2PP, and a middle six player. Also, if f he ends up playing with Boldy instead of Foligno it will make a HUGE difference in his production.
I am eager to see how he does tonight, and going forward into the regular season. Hoping for the best, but prepared for the worst.

Gus was so good. The team is going to be in an interesting spot of Gus further develops and stays in vezina talk for a few years in a row. Might have been smart to lock him up for 5-6 years and leverage Wallstedt into a top 6 asset

No, we can´t have that. Much more important to lock up some scrub for 4 years at a horrendous overprice because Locker Room Skills

The Wild could bury Merrill in the AHL and gain cap space to call up one of Hunt/O’Rourke/Lambos.
As much as I'd love to not have Merrill or Goose in the lineup, I don't think a) any of the youngsters are ready after watching them this weekend (I'd say ROR was the better of the three, quite easily), and b) certainly wouldn't bring them up unless they could play with Brodin or Spurgeon and we know we aren't going to split up the Brodin/Faber pairing.

Just my opinion of course but Iowa's defense were turnover machines this weekend and none of them passed the eye test. Some of it could be the new coaching staff but some of the breakdowns were simple passes and coverages that you learn in PeeWees.

That is really disappointing to read

They are still super young...Hunt and ROR are 21, Spacek and Lambos are 20. I think Hunt was trying to do way too much this weekend...Lambos kinda looked how he did at WJC...hyper with the puck and just bad choices...ROR is steady but doesn't have the ceiling the others do.

I just can't help but look at this group and think "is this really the best we can do?" I'd almost give a kid a chance to see if they run with it.

ROR needs to get stronger for his defensive game to be effective...maybe do the thing that Rossi did this past summer, next summer. His start this year is encouraging.

Hunt is off to a slow start... injury, maybe? He looked good for the most part last year.

Lambos has done some exciting things, for me, and shows physical talent, but needs to clean up a few mistakes. No one big thing, just a few small ones. He is still adjusting to the strength and speed of the AHL,nvm the NHL.

I like SJo as an AHL'er, but not sure if he will ever be a NHL'er.

Masters hasn't played yet, and looked to me to be behind everyone else at camp.

I am hoping that Peart picks up where he left off last year and ends up going to straight into the NHL next year, sorta like a LH Faber. I think he's got that talent, and smarts. Definitely has the wheels, and I think he might be big and strong enough.

So I’m thinking Zucc likely tanks Kaps value to the point he might actually have to stay here. Of course the other edge of the sword is that we have to watch Kap try and carry Zucc because Evason is too poor of a coach to actually change anything meaningfully regarding their line. Man what a conundrum
