Saw someone propose a trade on CF of Boldy+1st+Heidt for Celebrini. Curious if the tank die hards would do that trade.
that's a tough one, because i really like Boldy, and he just turned 23yo yesterday. I think i'd have to say yes, though. He looks to be a top 10 C of the future. Losing Boldy's salary would allow BG to spend foolishly on a FA, or sign Faber to a long term deal - maybe both!

I really, really like Boldy, and think he will be a P/pg forward in this league for a long time. He's not very good defensively, but the strength he has added helps in puck battles and maintaining spots in heavy traffic. Also, that crazy reach and skill of his allows him to pull of moves that remind me of Mario, Esposito, and Beliveau.

I wonder who has more trade value, Faber, or Boldy?

I would really need to know exactly what Yurov is before ever considering moving Boldy. Without Boldy this team has exactly one top 6 winger.

In fact the more I think about it the more I hate it. I’d have to decline that trade.

Currently picking 12th. But it's a big logjam at +6 (meaning 6 more wins than regulation losses).

Jets will beat us this afternoon. Now, if we can just convince Seattle and Buffalo and New Jersey to win.

Perhaps Hynes should take some of the responsibility for setting him up to fail in that game. He was the one who made the decision to start him in the first place, while knowing the difficult circumstances.

Still, i think Wally will be fine in the long term.

With Wild on brink of early offseason, reality sets in and an eye on the future begins

But the goal with Wallstedt is to keep him the rest of the season and not only start him in Chicago but perhaps other games.

In his NHL debut in Dallas in January, Wallstedt allowed seven goals fresh off an injury and with the Wild ravaged by injuries.

Let’s put it this way: He was set up to fail.

“I don’t think he had probably a fair shake in his first one — not just on him, but I think our team game in general,” said Hynes, who gave Wallstedt a pep talk on the flight back to Minnesota. “It’s a young player who made his NHL debut and it didn’t go the way he wanted it, or the way we wanted it for him. I think it’s emotional at times. He’s a human being. He’s a great prospect for us. He’s got great potential. I think it’s important that you go (to the) back (of the plane) and also help him understand. He just played his first NHL game. I think his dad was there. It’s special. You only get one, and he’s going to have a long career ahead of him. There’s certainly some lessons that he’ll take out of that. It wasn’t all on him.

I wonder if JEE is nursing an injury. He hasn't looked his usual self in the past couple of games. If so, i sure as hell hope they rest him. He is one hell of a lot more important than Foligno.

They need to get some secondary scoring this offseason. They have a shit to be good next year is they can do that and goaltending recovers

I think people are conflating, "Looking to trade Rossi" with "Could trade Rossi".
Perhaps. But I can't shake this feeling that Guerin is going to do something stupid....a decision that isn't best for the team, but instead a decision that Billy selfishly makes for himself to feel good, because Rossi isn't "his kind of gritty" player.

He's gone out of his way to hire non-gritty players as well as the gritty ones. Marcus Johansson isn't gritty. Zuccarello really isn't. He may have traded Fiala, but did so for Faber, who wasn't (and still isn't) really known as a gritty player. He re-signed Brodin, who's not a gritty player. He claimed Chisholm off waivers, and he's not gritty. Rossi is more gritty than several of these guys.

It seems to me that he likes a mix. I think we should be concerned if it comes out that he's decided he has too many small, skill players, but until then I'm not going to lose sleep.

For about three or four hours a day, he's a f***ing genius. But the rest of the time he spends wallowing in a kind of emotional reaction to either good or bad memories.

And he wouldn’t necessarily be wrong about that.

We're getting rid of Flower and Goli, that's $5.5 M. Surely we can find a decent winger for that, plus whatever the cap goes up with.

I think Flower is a 50/50. I wouldn't pencil him in on either side, currently.

EDIT: On another note: The rest of our games are completely losable with the exception of the Sharks.

04/09 - COL (Likely Loss)
04/12 - VGK (Likely Loss)
04/13 - SJS (Likely Win)
04/15 - LAK (Likely Loss?)
04/18 - SEA (Could go either way)

If rossi can find another level he and kap could drag zuc with them and free up ek and boldy to anchor another line. Not confident that could work all season so hopefully yurov comes over or someone else can step up.

I just want a strong effort from the team when Wally is in net. He's gonna get another start, and the more confidence he can get, the better.

I don't know if MAF is a guarantee yet. Some seem to think Billy may want him here one more year.
