I continue to be confused because now we're pointing at perceived fan sentiment, which I'm not even sure is accurate, to prove that his development was handled poorly, but actually it was still handled well because he's a great player now?

Or is the point that fans can be rash and overreactive and has nothing to do with drafting and developing at all?

There's zero coherence in thought here, it's all over the place.
Did you miss the part earlier that scouts should trade up to draft players that are falling? Because that was another mind bender.

Based on searching for his post history, looks as though he lost an argument with me on November 28th, 2021 and no one's seen him since
The AKL KO. I will say, nothing was more of a battle on here than having an argument with him lol. I think he is partly why I am so stand off-ish with my opinions. Had to dig the heels in early.

Anyways, we can’t be done trading right? Who’s next?

I can't imagine Maroon sticks around, even if the return for him is not much. Only other piece I can see going is Dewar, and I really hope they don't do that. Merrill or Goligoski would be a welcomed surprise.

It's so weird that Goligoski is a part of this team because I almost always forget he exists until he's brought up in specific circumstances.

Gotta be Dewar, right? Would a team take an injured Maroon ala Gustav Nyquist?

Even if Maroon only gets a 2026 7th they should take it.

Goligoski can't have any value at this point.

Merrill... I am praying....again, a 7th would do it.

Gaudreau for anything, also.

Dewar should stay, but will take a 2nd for him.

Keep Shaw, as he is worth more than he would fetch in a trade(5th? 6th?).

If we lose tonight, does MAF have a quick change of heart? A 3rd or 4th for him would be nice.

I think next year is going to be another write off, so would move Middleton for a late 1st. It's time for one of ROR/Hunt to step up, and if they don't, no biggie, as we aren't going anywhere anyway. Middleton's a UFA after next year, and I am afraid of how much BG will offer him on a NMC contract.

You know it's gonna be 4x4.

I was thinking more of a July 1, 6x6 deal for Middleton. 4x4 would be a little too reasonable for a 5D in his prime years.

don't forget the 4 year NMC that turns into a 22 team NTC in the final two years.

It would take a 2nd to get you to trade Dewar? Yeeesh. He’s not that good.

Dewar has a little more value considering he's still an RFA and is a center.
I’d pull the trigger on a 3rd. Dude is pacing a career high of 19 points with a shooting percentage over double where it likely should be. Sub 50% faceoffs. PK is one of the worst in the league and has been for awhile.

What is he actually good for? Serious question.

He's a speedy, and gritty 4th line center who can chip in offensively on occasion and he would still be under the control of a team that trades for him. I don't want to build him up to be anything more than that, but he does have some value on a good team.

His PK numbers are decent.

I’d be happy if a player picked in the 3rd round developed into the player Dewar currently is, so it seems like an unnecessary trade to make. He’s cheap, fast, and isn’t a defensive liability. Can’t really ask more out of a 4th liner unless you give him more opportunities.

It’s pretty Minnesota to be attached to a mediocre at best 4th liner.

Guerin hasn’t talked to his agent at all. He’s gone either way IMO.

There’s just not really any upside to trading him. Can’t remember what the odds are, but isn’t it like a 13-15% chance that a player drafted in the 3rd round plays more than 100 games?

What's the rush to move him if all you're expecting is a 3rd or 4th? Those picks are almost meaningless and all it means is Lucchini and Lettieri are on the fourth line full time moving forward. We don't have anyone else pushing to take his spot right now, and even if Yurov, Khusnutdinov and Ohgren all make the team next year, trade him or someone else then when you actually need to.

Something is better than nothing if you have no plans on re-signing him this summer.

The Italians being on the fourth line just helps the tank cause, that so many seems to be for until the teams starts losing.

I'm not attached to Dewar in any way. Just would rather bring him back than go make a multi-year/multi-million dollar mistake on a UFA 4th liner.
