Seems like a bit of a strawman argument. Worse Wild teams have done better than this against teams that have gone on to the Cup finals. These are scores I'd expect from the 1980s Oilers teams in the first round. In fact, even they didn't beat teams this soundly. I can understand why you may not want to see the Wild get bounced in the first round again, and I don't blame you for it, but some games will undoubtedly be competitive and exciting if they make it there.
Was an exaggeration to make a point, not all playoff hockey is worth it and just sneaking in to lose 4 straight games is not helping kaprisov more than improving this roster with your and proper cap usage.

I love the Kaprizov weaseled his way out of that competition. They said Fiala replaced him, but weren’t they both slater to do the fastest slater as is?

Wild will continue to be on the bubble of the playoffs, I believe. My only hope for them falling into the bottom 12 teams is if they really keep riding fluery even though he’s been questionable at times. How does Guerin go out in public a couple years from now when we’ve lost in like 8 straight 1st rounds?

Probably the same way he does now? What are you expecting, a public lynching?

Sure...but let's say Guerin re-signs Zucc a couple of years, then offers him a coaching job. Should help a lot if you want Kaprizov to re-sign here. Sounds like a plan?
Why should the team immediately hire the guy over someone else more qualifed to coach just because it would make one player happy?

Kaprizov is going to have to learn to be away from Zucca at some point. If he can't handle playing without his buddy in the same room or same city, then that makes Kaprizov look rather weak. But I'm guessing he'll be just fine.

I think the bigger issue is Webster will have to handle Zucc retiring.

I haven't watched much this season, we are not entertaining in the slightest, and while having a slight chance at moving up in the draft is intriguing, part of me hopes they sneak in.
I see these takes a lot from Wild fans. I don’t get it. This past week has been miserable with no Wild hockey to watch.

I wonder who stayed back. We know Zucca went to Florida as Kap's support pet. One person in the comments said they were on the same flight to Cabo and saw Evason with them too.

The Zuccarellos planned for a trip to Florida anyway, wanted to stay safe with a 6 months old baby. They actually stayed at Kulikov's house in Boca Raton. It's amazing how nice former teammates are to each other, even though I believe Kaprizov helped out...

Probably guys with young kids, or obligations to their home and family. I think it might be healthier for a team to split up and get away from each other for a few days, sometimes.

Honestly, I don't see them trading Dumba. I see them trying to make the cap work and bringing him back >.>

That would mean losing one of, if not two of, Gus, Addison, and Gaudreau. Don’t see that happening. I would guess that Dumba will get a 4-5 x 5 M contract at a minimum as a UFA. Don’t see us matching that, or Dumba settling for less. If we do sign him, then Guerin might as well look to be trading the above mentioned players at the TDL. Addison should get a 1st at a minimum, same with Gus. Gaudreau a bit less, but he would be a nice add for a playoff team needing forward depth. He plays a sound two way C, is fast, and smart.

They could trade Greenway (3 million) and Goligoski (2) or Merrill (1.2) and use that money to sign back Dumba? Give him a 4-5 at 4.5 million (team discount and such).

Goli can’t be traded till he waives his NMC. Merrill at 1.2 is unlikely to be traded…. We need contracts like that over the next two years. Maybe at next years TDL if Hunt and/or ROR prove themselves NHL ready. Neither of those situations will help us this off season. Trading Greenway for futures will help to the tune of 3M, but remember, we have to replace him with someone, so th ent savings will be about 2M, assuming it’s a lesser contract. So, that’s 11-12m to sign Addison, Gus, Dumba, Gaudreau, plus one or two others, I think? Say 5M for Dumba, Addison for 2.5M, Gus for 3.5M( at the rate he ‘s going), Gaudreau 3M, plus one or two other contracts.
The numbers don’t add up, unless you move Foligno, too. Moving a player like Steel, Shaw, Dewar, or Duhaime doesn’t save any money, because you have to replace them.

Why again is the team bringing back Gaudreau?
