I’d agree with the above. I’d rather make the 2nd rd of the playoffs than move up from say 16 to 10 or whatever.

Here’s the thing , that’s not happening. This team is f***ing terrible. They aren’t making the playoffs and they sure as f*** aren’t beating anyone there.

So , sell anyone and everyone and plan for the future

So, you want the Wild to be the Arizona Coyotes then? That will go over well with the season ticket buyers

We have a potential core here , we need to move those that aren’t going to be part of the next window. Dumba , greenway , Foligno for sure and anyone else over 30 basically.

Im fine with trading Greenway in the offseason. We probably wouldnt get anything more than a 3rd rounder for Dumba. How does that help us?

I can't wait for the next renewal letter. "We traded Kaprizov. The future is looking bright. So give us your money. By the way, we increased the prices again."

Honestly, our tickets have been hanging by a thread. Moving Kaprizov would be taking the scissors to them...even though I haven't been to a game yet this year, but that's not by choice. But that would sure as hell fast forward the process.

Kap was a 5th , Dumba is worthless to us now. It’s time to sell

Outside of Bedard, there is no player in this draft that would likely be a key contributor for a few years at least. We shouldn't waste Kaprizov's prime years trying to tank games for the future. If thats the plan, then just trade Kaprizov now, because he wont want to stick around for that.
Actually with this draft, I think the top 5 could contribute at least next season. Look at Bernier, McTavish, and Johnson. 2020 draft had Stutzle, Raymond, Sanderson and Drysdale contributing. Kaprizov hasn't really hit his prime either.

This is supposed to be one of the best drafts in a while; you have Fantilli, Carlsson, Yager that have been hyped up for a while. Not to mention Smith and Michkov (though Michkov is questionable due to being Russian).

With that said, will Minnesota be terrible enough to be in the top 5/7? Probably not.

you sure about that? isnt the rule you can move up 7 spots at max?
You can move up 10 spots and the odds of moving up from 16 to 6 is tiny like less than a percentage point. It's less than 4% to move 10 spots for any teams outside the top 10. They have better odds moving to the 2nd round.

Good , the on ice product is absolute trash and it is that way because Guerin and the Cop didn’t like Fiala wanting to score goals. I hope the ticket holders are f***ing pissed and don’t want to pay to watch “grit” and “playing the right way”. f*** Bill Guerin and f*** Dean Evason

Minnesota has been living up to their name of the Minnesota Mild lately. I don't think that's going to change. I think Minnesota hasn't been able to figure out a direction other than get to the playoffs and then hope?

Guerin doesn't seem to have much of a plan either.

One of these days I'm gonna dig out the 5 year plan blue print poster that Risebrough sent to STHer's around 2005 or somewhere in there. Or maybe it was a 10 year plan. I can't remember. But it was damn funny. And he sounded so sure of it and the direction they wanted to go.

Riser's problem was that he didn't expect to make the playoffs in 2002-2003, I think he was expecting to sell early but then the team went on an unexpected run.

You misspelled Eric.
We had both. I think Eric came second.

We did in 2014.

I would have rather missed the playoffs to draft four spots earlier and take Larkin.
Idk , beating the Avs in 7 is probably my favorite hockey I’ve ever watched. That’s basically my cup
