I was wrong about Ek, I admit it. He’ll never be silky smooth offensively but he is darn good at taking what he can do and create chances with it. And the shot is legit good.

Ek's toe drag in the playoffs was quite smooth. It doesn't happen often but the silkiness is somewhere in there, lying dormant.

JEE is great, and IMO, should have a letter. His consistency and effort in tough areas is to be admired.

Yep.

Yep. I loved his most recent contract from day 1. Also agree that he should have a letter, I imagine there's going to be one available next year.

Zuccarello has certainly cooled down and so has Kaprizov to a degree.
Kap has 9 points in the last 5 gp. That's on pace for 150 points.

Zucc has 4 points in the last 5 gp. Hardly a disaster.

That's on pace for 210 points between the two of them over the last 5 gp. I'll take it- that's, by far, the best production of any duo we've ever had.

If they only has a decent C, imagine what might happen. Steel was picked up on waivers, and is a replacement player at best. I hope Kap's back doesn't give out from carrying him around night after night.

I only wish this was something that was foreseeable and preventable by management.
I think they’re just dumb enough to think the Gaudreau-Boldy-anyone can be a play driving line at 5 on 5

Kap has 2 goals and 7 assists in the last 5 GPs. He had a 5 game no goal streak as well. He's only had 5 goals in the last 10 games. 9 assists, but that 5 goals (2 of which came from one game) is what I'm concerned about.

Zuccarello has had 2 goals in the past 10 games, 6 assists for 8 points.

I mean this isn't even true. He's on a 3 game goal scoring streak right now.

Yeah, if only they would have picked Lundell or Jarvis instead of Rossi. Who would have thought a small and slow skill player would have trouble adjusting to the NHL.

What does that say about the GM who expected that same player to be the reinforcements.

i must admit i thought rossi would have more of an impact this year. i was talking to another drunk at the bar like me saying WHAT IF we let dumba go to kraken then we still had tuch & fiala! hindsight is 20/20 but man just think maybe even still had suter. we'd be legit!

You literally just posted back to me what I stated. Again, how is a guy who scores 9 points in 5 gp "cooling off"? How is Zucc a problem when he scores 8 points in 10 gp?

Our problem is the secondary scoring from Hartman, Foligno, Gaudreau has dried up, Greenway continues to a zero, Rossi disappointed, Goligoski and his scoring has disappeared, and Fiala has gone and not been replaced in any meaningful way.

To take aim at the two highest scoring players on the team seems wrongheaded to me.

Right now we are reduced to hoping that Sammy Walker will come up and save the day.... that's pretty sad(no offense, Sammy). I like Dewar and Shaw, but they can't be expected to be big contributors on the scoresheet, nor can Steel.
