You never know, but JEE is a dump and chaser, while Boldy is a puck possession guy. It could be that Boldy takes JEE's game to a higher level, but in general, i don't see a fit.

I think that's mislabeling JEE. He's fine carrying or having someone else carry the puck into the zone. He's also fine with a dump and chase because he/his line forecheck so well. He just don't do that cute play of stop inside the blueline and look for an outlet pass. The same play Fiala got his chops busted over and that Kap/Zucc have bene failing to make work. If they don't get the puck on the dump in oh well, it's 200' from our net. If the turnover at the blueline happens then it's a rush the other way.

The GREEF line has been a puck possession line. Without Greenway the line doesn't work because they lost the puck possession guy. Boldy is an upgrade to Greenway in everyway except size. It's a poorman Bergeron line Boldy = Pasta, JEE=Bergeron, Foligno = bigger, much less skilled Marchand.

I've had it as Kap/Rossi (takes Zucc's wing spot) as the 1st line and Boldy/JEE as the 2nd line as the contracts start expiring.

I don't like the coach or GM much either. Maybe that will help you boost your case?
Absolutely it will , but I am having a bit of a re-think about my crusade to ban you, as you are one of the few(ok, two) around here who makes GDT's, and can explain things like fighter jets.

Who are Fogarty and Walker? The names sound kinda familiar, but I can't recall anything else about them.
Fogarty was drafted by NYR out of Notre Dame. Has played some NHL games with limited success. Is big,29 yo, can play C, not the fastest, not a fighter, but has some smarts. Sammy Walker spent 4 years at the U, 2 of them as Captain. Played C there, but is likely a wing in pro hockey. 23 yo, fast, some puck skills and offense, average height and weight, has a bit of chippiness in his game. Smart. Has been playing well in Iowa, but IMO must put on some weight/strength to be an NHL'er.

I think both have looked better than Beckman this year so far. Walker has some upside, Fogarty, none. I do see why they would bring up Fogarty over Walker, for sure, if only for the size.

I thought Fogarty looked good in the preseason.

If he had some snarl to his game, or a bit more speed, he'd be in the NHL. A little bit too passive and slow, IMO, but 6'3", 200+ lbs. is hard to move, and he plays a smart game. If you stick Dewar and Shaw/Steel/Jost on either side of him they might have a half assed line.

I think it's too soon for Walker to get a call up- he's still adjusting to the AHL, and he's too much like what they have up here, though I have hopes for him. Swaney has looked good , too, but again, smaller.

Missing Hartman, Greenway, Foligno is taking almost all the size and toughness out of our lineup.

I can stop doing the GDT's and google or youtube can explain fight jets.

It's good for people to have a cause, so I'm just trying to help you out with yours, :pcheer::cheer:

I am kind of surprised that Goligoski hasn't played since Merrill got back. Usually Dean tries to keep a rotation going. Wonder if he is hurt?

Addison has been playing decently; that's really the only lineup competition for Goli. Goli is better defensivley than Addison, but Addison runs the PP so effectively you lose more than you'd gain.

Brodin, Dumba, and Spurgeon are all better players. Merrill and Middleton are both bogger/physical than Goli and the team is small overall.

He was benched pretty consistently 2nd half of last year as well remember. When the D-lineup is healthy, he's the weakest link. The team started playing better with him on the bench.

Makes you wonder why the hell Guerin decided to waste money on him.

I am far from his biggest fan, but i thought he looked pretty good this year. He is a smart player, and far better with the puck than Merrill. Just surprised that they are not having him spell off one of the other Dmen.

He is certainly capable of being a competent #6, IMO, especially if Dumba is his partner. For a guy like him it's good that he is getting some rest. I think his body simply wears down if he plays too many minutes.

I think defense is the weakest part of Goligoski's game. At times, when he has fresh legs, he can still contribute offensively, but he's a defensive black hole.

The Wild are currently 3rd in the Central and in a playoff position. Weird start to the season for this division.

MN has won the games they should and lost the games they should, as far as on paper teams. The DET loss is the only one that doesn't really fit with this. LA was the only tossup game on the schedule for me so far.

6-3-1 was my guess for the start of the season record. A 6-2-3 record is the rest of NOV's games on paper for me. I use OTL as a tossup game.

ehh...he's pretty slow, and not strong, but he's smart, and positions himself well. He's no Bitetto, or Brad Hunt.

I think this is his role on the team from before the season started. A 7D to cover injuries and insurance if Addison couldn't figure things out.

He can practice, play ~30 games for injuries, and make popcorn in the pressbox while collecting his $2m just for passing go.

That would make perfect sense to me if he was only signed for one year, or 1M.
