Initial response was 1st+cap hit to get us under the cap ceiling
Doesn't seem to fit the market. Don't blame them for asking for it, but it shouldn't be a 1st.

Most of them also think they gave up the 9th overall pick for him because they refuse to believe Benning thought OEL had value in that trade. They think it was 9OA for Garland and a couple cap dumps for OEL.

Sturm has 5 goals. Meanwhile, I'm happy just to never see Jost on the ice again....

I'm not saying that Sturm is great, but he clearly was a bottom 6 player that had a chance of being somewhat better than that with his speed and his hands. It would have been really nice to leverage that on a Boldy line or a Kaprizov line.

Jost doesn't have a single above average NHL skill.

Foligno-Rossi-Boldy line lacks a shooter. They end up cycling without ever threatening to score.

I don’t hate the idea of letting Rossi play some wing while he acclimates to the NHL. There aren’t many Cs his size in the league and we could slide Hartman back to C.

Agree with the poster who said he is tired of watching Dumba play hockey. Faber can’t get here soon enough.

Can we please get some pro scouts that are worth a damn? Minnesota has been whiffing on trades since inception.
Almost all of Guerin’s trades have been towards enabling his best asset (draft team). He’s made some good future oriented trades… Zucker, Kunin, Kahkonen, etc. The Fiala trade got us some really nice pieces (Fabre+Ohgren) and enabled us to make a high risk draft pick in Yurov.

I do agree with your point in terms of hockey trades though. The only one I’d say was a win was Pateryn for Cole.

Middleton for Kahk seems fair/good so far.

I'd like to see how the drafted players turn out before calling the draft team an asset.

Galy (I know salary had to come back), Johansson, Bonino, Fleury, Deslauries, Jost have been mediocre to awful. I think Cole for Pateryn and Bjugstad for a 7th were decent.

They added a new guy from Montreal. We'll see.

Johansson for Staal was a wash if you look at their at their stats.

Bonino wasn’t supposed to be better than Kunin. The value of that trade was the early 2nd round pick (Khusnutdinov).

Fleury and Deslaurier weren’t bad trades.

What Montreal guy?

We have two top 10(ok, top 11) LW's in Boldy and Kaprizov, and one top 3 RW(Zucc). While we all know that Zucc is not a top 3 RW, he is definitely playing out of his mind, Kap is a no doubt top 3 LW, and I think that Boldy is a top 10 LW right now.

Boldy's strength and confidence this year have really improved from last year. Last year he'd fall down more often than not in board battles. This year he's flat out bullying people, and his already good puck protection has gone up another level. I wonder if he isn't watching Kap and Zucc in practice and picking up things from them.

Next step is for him to start firing the puck more, but i could say the same for the other two.

He still looks very lean. It will be interesting to see how much more muscle he will pack on to that frame. With his size, strength and filthy mitts, he will be a real force in the NHL.

I'm seeing Rantanen. I have been surprised by the speed of his development. Have to admit that I wasn't completely on board with him as a prospect.

Gotta get him better linemates.

Will be interesting to see what lines they go with depending on how injured we are. I do hope that we get to see more JEE and Boldy together, really like the potential there.

You never know, but JEE is a dump and chaser, while Boldy is a puck possession guy. It could be that Boldy takes JEE's game to a higher level, but in general, i don't see a fit.
