5 years seems like a long time to me

Cap will continue to rise so by the time you get to years 4-5 that's the same value as a ~1.5m deal for a legit 3rd line C. Steal.

I'm feeling pretty optimistic, honestly. Especially if Ek can get in a game or 2 at the tail end of the first round.

Meh... disagree. He was a monster last post post season. That didn't just vanish.

I’d say the whole staff could go (maybe keep the goalie coach). Powerplay isn’t great, penalty kill is worse, can’t win a face off, don’t hardly ever practice during season. Just what do they do besides get punched by Deano if they get a win? I guess they sit around and brain storm about which goalie is going to play next.
If the Wild want to change the culture and actually do something in the playoffs in the future, start there. Then make a philosophy change that offense is good. Can’t win in playoffs if all you can do is play defense at the expense of your offense…..

What exactly does Darby coach here anyway? Is he only on the bench because of pictures he's holding against someone? He's survived 4 coaching changes....
