I remember liking Macelli and Soderstrom...what a drag is must be to play for such a talentless team and organization.

Boldy is showing what it looks like when someone is clearly ready for the next level, and it's showing that Rossi isn't there yet. Give Boldy the Sunday game to make sure, but if he has another game like this (and I don't mean the scoring), he needs to make his NHL debut next Friday against Winnipeg.

He won't.

A 5-10 minute break to fix some glass and Army comes out with his third and fourth lines. I mean they don't need to score any more, but let's not get confused about why we're all here.

He won't.

Painful. He's put on a clinic tonight. At the very least he needs to get a few games just to know what else he has to work on for the next level. The Wild have 5 homes games in 9 days starting next Friday. No reason not to give him a call up for that. It's not like we're saving a year of his ELC.

Tucson running around trying to hammer Iowa players with late hits. No need to expose Rossi/Boldy and the like to this. Refs are not handling it well. It's 5-0, late in the 3rd. Time to go home.

Exposing Beckman to this though, for whatever reason

I guess I just don't have any clue how Army rolls his lines. Doesn't make sense to me.

Boldy has picked up where he left off Friday. No points yet, but he's creating all over the ice.

So far, the refs only seem interested in calling penalties against one team. Tucson has had their way inside Baribeau's crease a couple times, and nothing.

Boldy finds a loose puck in the high slot and puts it home

Baribeau is (rightfully) livid leaving the ice after that period

So Cramarossa comes on to the ice, and gets an elbow to the head/neck from a Tucson player. Leaves the ice bleeding. But because the puck was down in the Wild zone, everyone missed what happened to Cramarossa, so no penalty.

Zane McIntyre is the MVP of this game so far. Just robbed Beckman of the tying goal. He's the only reason this game isn't 4-2 Wild right now.

Boldy double teamed and draws a tripping penalty while still managing to keep possession.

Imama sees Hicketts numbers, and performs a leaping cross check, sending Hicketts into the boards. Somerby lays Imama down immediately. Tucson ends up on the PP.

Rossi rang a one timer off the post with like 15 seconds left, but the Wild lose 1-2. Incredibly frustrating game to watch. Imama should be suspended but didn't get even a penalty on the play. I lost count of how many times a Tucson player was tangled with Baribeau in the crease.

Boldy had a really good game though. He should be called up this week, but probably won't be.

Rossi off the crossbar with 8 seconds left with the net empty.

In general, Iowa let this team get them off their game...there was some bizarre officiating calls against them. Boldy looks vg still. Rossi the second best player, though Dewar looks good also, and plays a complete game. Beckman was decent, but he has one of those games where if he isn't scoring, you don't really notice him.

Besides Hicketts, the D was pretty iffy...Mermis was out for some reason, and Addison called up?

Macelli had a nice game for Tucson. Soderstrom is pretty unimpressive...disappointing...thought he'd be a good player.

how do you like Nick Swaney's development? Okay, he's already 24 but he had a smooth transition to the AHL (12 pts in 13 games) ... is he a candidate for callups soon?

I wouldn't say so. Nothing about him really sticks out, except for an ability to score points. He's not especially strong, fast, or a great two way player. If he keeps scoring at this pace then you'd have to revisit that opinion, but as of now I don't know what hole he would fill. I wouldn't bring him up before Boldy, Rossi, Dewar, or even Shaw. Rau, too, for that matter.

Rossi shoved into boards from behind, and was down on the ice for a couple of minutes. He has not returned to play. Wouldn't be surprised if it's a concussion. No call on the play.

Boldy gave away the puck on a PP leading to a SHG against. After looking at it again, should've been a hooking call against Boldy, which caused the turnover.

For all the complaining we do about the refs in the NHL, the AHL is much worse. They let a lot more go.

Shaw scores assisted by Boldy and Rossi.

Rossi back on the ice in the 2nd.

Boldy with another assist. Iowa leading 2-1 late in the 2nd.

Some guy from Henderson started giving Boldy the business....remember this is after Rossi was slammed into the boards from behind in the 1st, which went uncalled. McLeod stepped in and beat the shit out of him. This is what happens when refs don't do their job.

Boldy looks great. The only criticism of him is that sometimes his motor runs cold. His speed is fine, and his edges even better. Puck handling, vision, shot all look very good. He's got quite a reach, and is strong enough, though could get stronger.

Hicketts is small, but stocky, and a vg AHL level PMD. I am also liking Mermis's all round game. I think he can play in the NHL in a pinch.
