Wild don’t need to send back Talbot or Kahkonen. They can make the goaltending decision at the end of the year, Kahkonen is still yet eligible for waivers so if they were to add Fleury or another goaltender, he can go down.

Fleury accepted a trade to Chicago under the agreement he would not be moved without his blessing. 10 team NTC is meaningless here. It’s great Chicago wants a first round pick, another thing to reconcile the small window of teams that could use him, where he would agree to go, and that team’s willingness to part with that type of asset. The Wild certainly are not that team and adding something like Marat to the equation is a nonstarter.

A second round pick, from whoever that could end up being seems fair. Far cry from the no-count “prospect” that Chicago moved for him during the offseason.

Fleury came dangerously close to breaking his hand tonight on the 4th Winnipeg goal. He lost his glove earlier in the play and then tried to catch a Kyle Connor slapper barehanded.

It's like Minnesota has some cap issues or something.
Yeah….stated that in an earlier post as to why BG won’t trade a first. Maybe a second for him. MN needs the picks for the dead cap space years so they hopefully come out in decent shape. But Kap will probably leave around then too so……better to try and win the west now or pray later? That is for BG to decide.

Minny fans, what does Chicago need to add to Fleury to get Marat Khusnutdinov?
I wouldn’t trade him for Toronto’s first, and I don’t really want Fluery either, so don’t see how that would happen

While Minnesota's current goalie tandem leaves a lot to be desired, I just don't see this as a team that has the talent to be "all-in" right now

They have three years of 12 - 15 m cap penalty (Suter Parise buyouts) , they can try now and be more cautious during the three next years.

That's an interesting one.
Very similar team to Toronto. Slipping because of questionable goaltending, but they decided to push in the chips.

If I was Talbot, I would be pissed. Dude has played very well for the WIld the past 2 years and they push him to now being a backup and not give him another shot in the playoffs?
