He already said no to waiving for Toronto. Stop making stuff up
Not making anything up ,I'm seeing the chips fall and speculating , nothing more relax ,although reports have Leaf's grabbing Gio so,,,,,,,I've never seen anything confirmed that he wont go to Toronto , just a rumor.

Not interested in a prospect with limited upside. McBain doesn't move the needle at all.
Talbot isn’t just a throw in/cap dump. He may provide the Wild with cap relief if they decide to go with a cheaper option next season, but he’s been a decent goalie while here. He can be the starter for Chicago next year & be flipped too. He’s probably around a 3rd in value & McBain sounds like he’s worth at least a 2nd. 2nd + 3rd should be somewhat close for an expiring goalie with a NMC. It’s not like Chicago has any incentive to keep him if they can’t get a better offer than this.

I wouldn't trade a 2nd for McBain. A 3rd, sure but not a 2nd. You can still find high end talent in the 2nd round, it happens often enough.
McBain has limited upside, and the Hawks need forwards with a higher ceiling than a bottom 6er. McBain is more attractive to a contending team that needs a cheap bottom 6 player than to a rebuilding team.

He was drafted 63rd overall, which is a late 2nd now. With how often teams miss out on 2nd rounders, I think a 2nd round is probably around fair value for him. To be honest, I think his floor is a bottom 6 C & ceiling might be higher-end middle 6. Not sure where Chicago is at in their rebuild/retool, but he’s somebody that can jump in right away.

Let’s say he’s traded to Arizona for their highest 2nd round pick, would you consider that 2nd + Talbot?

We're basically just starting, because the idiot ex-GM traded away a shit ton of draft picks for Seth Jones.

Don't stand for the Hawks. Stand for Kyle Beech.

Chicago is under no obligation to make Minnesota better. Give a first or move on.

Talbot, a 2nd and maybe something else. Talbot might be able to get you a higher pick next year too. Win/win.

Minnesota is under no obligation to give a first either

Of course not, it all depends if they want to be a contender.

From the Chicago perspective, getting back scraps is no better than not trading him.

Just saying here, would you rather get something or nothing for him? Hell, he may retire next year anyway.

A 2nd, sure, or maybe a guy like Damon Hunt. More than that, please, no Guerin. Hopefully they don't send a guy like Dewar, but i can see that happening.
