The Leafs and Bruins have played 18 games. Everyone else in the Atlantic has played less. Detroit and TB only have played 15. The Bruins are a .500 team so far. Hypothetically, if we stopped playing at 18 games and let those other teams play their remaining games, it's possible the Bruins could finish as low as 7th place. Unless TB runs the table, Florida will win the Atlantic. Zooming out, NYR, Carolina and Washington all have more points AND 3 games a piece at hand. I don't think they'd sink that low, but I have trouble seeing them finishing above 5th right now.

The standings right now are pretty deceiving since some teams have played so many games fewer than others.

Maybe not blow it up, but make a few moves to shake things up, let the players/staff know they can't be complacent
Beat blues on Saturday and win the next 2 and whammo we all giddy again.

Just in from the game. It was hard to be a Bruins fan watching that mess. There were a lot of us , though, so it was shared pain.

The only thing I can add to what’s already been posted is that the team worked hard all game- they were trying and not succeeding. Defensive zone coverage was terrible and really noticeable sitting so close. One thing that stood out to me ( we were sitting right behind the goal about 8 rows up, 2 periods behind Oettinger) is the number of clear shots from the high slot or so that were turned down in favor of passes. I watched several guys skate up the middle and have room to shoot and instead dish it off where it pretty much amounted to nothing.

Oh and the two callups had solid games. Oosterle was actually good- better than any other d man out there tonight. Lohrei looks like Bambi on skates and passes like her too. He maybe ought to join Poitras in Providence once the injuries are sorted out.

See that's the problem. They rope you in with a win, then look horrible the next outing. Even the St Louis win was too Jekyll-Hyde for my liking. They feel like a skyscraper built on sand. Potential to the clouds but sitting on unstable ground

You can see that with most teams right now they all bottled all together up right now. Only like a few teams kinda stand out right now. I think Christmas time is a good time to gage if they should stand pat add or blow up.

There's a lot to work on- "special" teams, goaltending, defense, scoring...maybe I'm better off listing the stuff they don't need to work on. It's a hot mess.

Next games are home against St Louis, Columbus and Utah. Let's hope for a better 60 minute effort. Even if they lose who cares, just get the game straightened out. These *should* be very winnable games.

That's been the Bruins for the last couple of years, unfortunately.

Welcome to life being paid like an elite starter, Swayman. Expected to start 50+ games and perform night in, night out. No padding against basement teams. Better start earning that money. No nights off. Abolutely no-one will feel sorry for you. Scrutiny is here, buckle up.
