OMG!!!! A player had a good game that is far different than the previous 20 games!!! That has totally never, ever happened before, ever!!!!!!!!!!!!! Apocalypse!!!!!!!

Get real. Post when he's playing that amount of time on a regular basis. FYI, that's a career high in ice time for him. Yeah, that's a massive improvement for sure.

Shore is making tremendous strides. Sutter is giving him more responsibility. The kid makes plays and more importantly doesn't make glaring mistakes.

Shore's stock is on the rise, Richards is still not in the lineup.

I don't think Richards' role on the Kings is solidified next season if he sucks less than Stoll. Right now, I would say they are both gone.

The only thing that will solidify Richards' role on the team next season is him busting his ass and playing extremely well in his own zone if/when he returns to the lineup.

Otherwise, he will likely be bought out and Dean will be shopping for a #3 center via trade or free agency.

Heh heh heh.

I've already said I'd be shocked if he wasn't gone next season.

So I must have misunderstood your previous post?

No, you're good. I was mainly making more of a general statement.

My previous post was a reference to your 'Not sure that Stoll sucking lately suddenly makes Mike Richards a better hockey player' line. It doesn't make MR a better player, but it certainly makes Stoll's roll on this team next season easier to know (he's gone).

Where was Richards mentioned?

Shore's been ok... We've seen no offense from the kid. He got hemmed in the defensive zone pretty bad last night by Vey's line, I believe.... Hopefully he'll have some sort of offense show up, because this team already has enough players that don't produce.

Richards is not getting bought out... it's just hilarious that some people think Lombardi is going to eat a 10 year cap hit.

About the only way Richards is gone is if the cap doesn't go up enough next season. If the cap goes up enough Lombardi will have the option of retaining salary for 5 years or seeing if Richards can rebound. Not all that difficult of a choice....

Also Richards should 100% be up in the playoffs over Shore, based off experience alone. Now does that mean Sutter will be able to figure out how to effectively get Richards into the line up.... I have my doubts.

Give Shore a taste of the postseason. If (quite possibly when) he wilts or we struggle, you make adjustments.

Anyone know for sure if Richards is still in LA? I'm assuming he is since I haven't heard anything to the contrary.
For sure...lol nobody does

No one knew he was out here until peeps started snapping pics at Toyota Training Center. For whatever reason the Kings are being super secretive about this

After I read your post, I checked to see when the Monarchs played last and it was Wednesday and he didn't play

This is all I could find this is from the insider
Richards is taking part in private physical testing and training before returning to Manchester this weekend.

I guess we'll find out when he is back when he shows up on the ice.

Shore with slightly over 13 minutes tonight, +1, with an assist, and 89% on the dot.

Nah, that's not a significant improvement over what Richards was doing. The kid isn't even improving game-to-game.

Shore even last night was still heavily sheltered. He played well last night though.

But is still not playing the minutes or match ups that Stoll/Richards do or did.

Next season is where the Kings will get a good glimpse of what Shore can do. Shore's minutes will increase, and Sutter will put him in tougher match-up's. Right now Shore just has to not screw up consistently while being sheltered.

Then I guess he's on his way back. Strange to have him miss 3 Monarch games for a couple of days of testing- missing the 3 games couldn't have improved his conditioning. Kinda mysterious as to what's going on.

Waive Andreoff to recall Richards but who sits? Who sits when Martinez returns?

Greene should sit when Martinez returns but we know that's not going to happen.

If Richards were to come back up im not sure, Shore has played well enough to stay in the lineup and Sutter isn't scratching Stoll.

Would it be too crazy to think next year the Kings could have Weal and Shore as the #3 and #4 centers?

Not going to happen, Weal has no NHL experience. Maybe if he plays a couple games in the playoffs due to injury and lights it up.
