Yeah you can't have a team with twenty three 21 yr olds
Mike's signed 3 more years, with a contract KENT himself negotiated for him, the guy's most likely going nowhere for a couple of years
He (And Savard until he's gone too) will be a mentor for the younger kids once we ship out edmundson
Feeling Savard might be gone this summer, depends what way they want to trend but they will have to unload a D at some point.

So fun to watch. He was the habs best player tonight.
Great pro skating by the front office. He can really drive play with his skating. His defense and physical game are much better than had been advertised I feel as well. They put him in a spot to succeed and it's working out well.

Yeah, we haven’t seen that often from our dman in the last few years, other than Petry.

He’s on pace for around 30 points, like last year but in 27 less games. While being really good defensively too.

I am becoming a big fan of this player.
What is starting to stick out for me other than the elite skating is his defensive game. It's actually pretty good.
Nice trade by Hughes, replaced a more expensive and older player with someone who I believe has more upside.
Hextall is a clone of Milbury and Bergevin.

Idk this dude is kinda nice honnestly but that's just me. Solid top 4 and he has a little mean streak
Yeah he's got that trace of red in his hair. :D Matheson is starting to play the way I expected him to earlier this season. He doesn't get brain cramps like Petry did but does gamble and he gets caught out on occasion. That doesn't bother me too much but I'd like him to be more selective with his shots on the PP both he and Hoffman have a tendency to take low percentage shots when the ideal would be to keep the puck moving to tire the defenders.

Who do we have whose better? Matheson would be a top pairing defenceman on most teams.

Maybe not every team, and maybe it will take some consistency playing at this level, but I tend to agree that the way he's playing now he'd be a valuable asset to any team.

Great work so far considering how cornered in Hughes was with Petry.

Nice addition that could really help take the heat for the young D coming up through the system. I am surprised with the sandpaper in his game and I like that he's a real shooting threat. If he gets passed by the kids eventually, that means we get to choose between very strong blueline depth or using him to upgrade a different need as the team pivots into a playoff contender.

There's nothing to me that suggests he won't be a contributor here, so I'm pretty confident about his floor. Hoping he could be the player to get the power play going in the right direction.
