Yeah Breezeby was unfairly maligned, but I still remember wanting to pull my hair out watching him cough the puck up at the opposing blue line on a semi regular basis.

Imagine if social media was a thing when he played?

Once upon a time, brisebois was the highest paid dman in habs history making 4mil per year.

I don't know, but I like him.

I think he's definitely a top 4 d-men in a well built back end. But, the habs d is so young that there's no where for his flaws to hide.

Love the way he moves the puck.
He will be fine, to help hold down the fort, while the kids, especially Guhlie develop......we have more kids on D coming to the show, in the next 1-2-3 seasons

That was a scary time............

My opinion means nothing, but I like him more than Petry. Petry always had brain-farts and defensive lapses. Appears to be more willing to engage when and if the time comes to drop the gloves.
Not sure if you watched Matheson this year lol petry had a horrible first half of the year last yeah but other than that he’s much more useful than Matheson but I still like him

It was not the plan to trade him but with how our young defs are developing nicely, I would be curious to see what we could get in a trade for Matheson. On the LD we have Guhle, Xhekaj, Harris and prospect Hutson. And we still have Edmundson under contract for next season. A 1st round pick and A prospect type of return would be interesting

His name has been associated with trade rumours but I wouldn't trade him personally.

I think he’s good for the rebuild. Once we’re hopefully competitive again, his contract will be great and he’ll likely be our 3rd LD behind any number of Guhle, Hutson or Wifi. Or bottom pair RD.

Either way he gives us a veteran presence out there and he may improve over the next couple of years

So next year he'll be 30 at this point in the season.

Which begs the question: is he part of the future?

We don't have to trade him now if he's not. But we probably should at some point in the next 2 years.

If we want to compete in a couple years we need some veterans on defense, and he could actually get better here. Plus his contract is fine and movable. No reason to move him anytime soon IMO

Yeah you can't have a team with twenty three 21 yr olds
Mike's signed 3 more years, with a contract KENT himself negotiated for him, the guy's most likely going nowhere for a couple of years
He (And Savard until he's gone too) will be a mentor for the younger kids once we ship out edmundson

Edmundson can also be a mentor.

And if we ship Eddy out now, we won't get anything back.

Potentially he is. All depends on how his game ages. But I do agree that if he's dealt it should be sooner than later. I figure we'd wait until the young guns force a logjam and we can move MM for a deadline pickup or something

If he keeps playing like this, his value should be at it's highest next TDL.

He's been playing well. But it's too small of a sample size.
