Lol -13 EV goal differential and 3:00 minutes of PP time a game. The more you look into the deal the less it makes sense.

We should probably let Puustinen play more than 1 game in the NHL before we declare that he is a "similar player" to a guy who has over 450 points over 10 years in the NHL.

Like, I agree with the complaints about usage of youth in the organization but none of us has any idea what kind of player Puustinen could be at the NHL level.
Well like with Sprong, we‘ll never find out here because of ...sully

Hate is no longer too strong of a word for this front office. I HATE THIS FO and entire management group.

This is my favorite sports team bar none. I don't want my only response to be to NOT watch. I can stop buying merch and paying premiums for games that I normally couldn't watch - easy. But I want to watch. This is a product that's getting impossible to follow.

I know this will be long. I waited to this morning saying a subtle prayer before bed that this was some bigger plan and we were flipping him. But no. While other teams see the economy with teams dumping premium assets at 50% retained - we go out and drop 43k at the Kia dealership full price. f***ing disaster. We could have had Conor Sheary cheaper. Cheaper money cheaper asset. But we decide to spend 5 F'N million WITH TERM for a tiny little shitter. Are you kidding me??? You know who makes this move? Tampa. At heavy retention...for like a shit tier prospect. Pittsburgh? That's our guy!!! We give them our 2nd in a deep draft. Absolute brutal trade and a disgrace to the franchise. Wait and see? I dare you to play with 12 players and make something look nice.

f*** this management group.

I think Granlund can work here, but I’m 99% certain Sully won’t put him in a position to succeed and completely misuse him.

What do you mean Sally can't transform him to a checking line "griiinnnd them m***** f****** down" defensive PK specialist, even though he's never played that way nor is his strength?

-16 making it the worse on the Predators. Legit is bad defensively.

5 million... 2 years after.

How could we not compete with the Chychurn Sens deal? Are we that cheap?

Chychrun was spotted at a casino in Arizona and said something mean to someone there.

Can't have that attitude here nor those types of habbits.

Any semblance of props I gave Hextall for waiving those guys is gone - but I will say this feels like Sully insisting no meany-heads on his team, so Hextall rolls his sleeves up and says roger that - here you go F'er and finds the softest most overpaid bottom 6er in the NHL.

Granlund would be great if we had some jam in the lineup. We don't have any, and there isn't much on the way unless Hallander turns into a player or Poulin can develop enough to Sully's liking.

The root cause of our issues is that we haven't pulled meaningful talent from our minor league since 2016. Ray Shero drafted those guys. Let's let that sink in.

Hextall had a tough act to follow - his three predecessors in Rutherford, Shero and Patrick all took home the cup - but he's failed so spectacularly at every level. Cap management, signings, trades... all of it has made this team less competitive now and in the future. I have very little hope any of this will be rectified over the next two days. Just a disaster of a hire all around. I was happy when Mario got his money, but man, at what cost to the team? We now have to consider the real possibility that Letang and Geno and god forbid Sid will try to find a way onto competitive teams to fulfill that dream of the fourth ring.

I think the trade is absolute insight into Sully/FO mindset regarding this team.

They are only a productive 3rd line away from being a contender.
KAP was the problem with the 3rd line and JC.
Grandlund will get the 3rd humming.

CUP incoming

I truly believe this is how they see their team........... (insert farting)

I think there's a massive disconnect between what Sully wants and what the FO is willing to provide, but it's admittedly all conjecture.

I'll admit to being confused. Is Granlund going to be a #2 wing or #3 center. Please help me understand...

He'd probably be best as a 2L RW. Which means Sully will use him as 3C in a matchup shutdown role. He just has to get to his game.

I've never seen a general manager f*** up a team so much in little less than 9 months.

Any chance the Penguins had --- gone. This is a horrendous move. SMH Hacksaw is literally the worst gm in the league.
Hextall should have been locked in a broom closet until after the trade deadline passed. I didn't think he could possible get worse, but here we are...

This talk about softness is kind of funny because I thought they played a pretty great physical game against Nashville.

My only complaint in terms of toughness about that game imo was that Ruuta went too far to defend Geno for taking a clean check, resulting in a bad penalty.

Sure, you never turn down an offer for a good player with grit, but teams that have that generally want to keep said players.

FSG hedge fund guys banking on the land deal to make millions. Me as they are indifferent to the Pens and fans, I trust the chances of anything but pup tents being zoned for that block of concrete is where things go. F them, F Boston and F Hextall.
